Commercial Description:
This Russian Imperial Stout is an intensely flavorful beer. Chocolaty, roasty, fruity, and bittersweet, with a hidden alcohol presence. This beer was designed to be sipped slowly on a cool evening in a nice cognac glass. Let it warm up to get the full flavor. This beer won Best in Show at the 2005 NJ State Fair when Brian was homebrewing.

This is one ghetto looking beer label. It looks like it was done in WordPerfect 2.0. But i did enjoy the Mash. A little roasty. Hids the alcohol level well. Kind of, not bland, but limited for a Imperial. Nothing that really stands out about it. I don’t really notice the intense hop aroma, just the sweet, roasty, malts.

Courtesy of Mgumby10. The aroma is slightly grassy with cocoa and fruit and roasted malt. The body is brown hued black and holds a small tan head. The first sip gives a bit of hot alcohol followed by some green vegetable notes like fresh unroasted coffee beans. Very grainy flavor for an imperial stout. Some mild chocolate and coffee notes. Also get a bit of green tobacco. Odd, not bad, just very different.

2008-07-11. Black body with a very small brown head that fades. Alcohol in the aroma, touch of wood or something odd. Rough alcohol note to the flavour, bitterness has some nice hop notes, but can be a bit jarring at times. Some nice chocolate undertones. Can’t really make up my mind on this one, it definitely has its moments. Smooth average to medium palate, lightly carbonated. My numbers are a touch higher than I remembered actually liking it, but who knows I was clearly conflicted! Bottles shared by Blankboy and HogTownHarry

Bottle 12oz. Deep dark black in color with a nice off white fluffy head that left a nice lacing on the glass. Roasty chocolatety bitter aroma. Toffee notes. Caramel chocolatety roasty flavor. Full bodied. Creamy and smooth tasting. Finish is dry. Very drinkable. Good beer.

Bottle (12oz). Shared by me and blankboy (3 bottles) with gregclow, jerc, mabel & tupalev. Thick black pour, average creamy lasting. Sweet, fairly boozy aroma, dry and slightly lactic, dry leafy hop bitterness. The taste is a little chalky, minty and lactic, sort of like dry minty malty chocolate milk with a herbal bitter infusion. Smooth, silky thick mouthfeel, still and creamy, a little boozy and milky in the finish. Pretty solid.

Bottle shared by kmweaver. Pours a proper deep black color with a dark tan head. Nose is sharp smoked/black malts, sharp notes of dark, bitter chocolate, heavy roast... similar flavor, heavy roast, some sharpness and roughness, but the chocolate note is especially note, rough, bitter, dry, roasted bakers chocolate. Not bad.
