Commercial Description:
A Belgian Dubbel, a style that originated in the monasteries in the Middle Ages. This beer is rich, malty and raisiny with a touch of caramel flavor. Being one of our bigger beers this should be enjoyed in moderation.

12oz bottle-pours a foamy briefly then dissipating tan head and deep red/mahogany color. Aroma is medium malt-roasty, leathery/earthy, fruit, spicy. Taste is dark/medium malt-roasty/some chocolate notes, fruity-cherry, secondary earthy/spice /grass/hay-hops. A decent beer that is an interesting interpretation that’s a bit more bitter, less sweet malt and less yeast impact than standard. OK carbonation.

Bottle shared by kmweaver on 7/3/08: Porus a transparent dark copper mahogany with a thin, spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of toasty dark caramel and some light fruits along with a touch of earthy smoke. Body starts fairly full and dark caramely sweet with nice toasty character and some dry bready doughy notes in the finish. A pretty good dubbel.
