Appearance: Ruddy brown color with small, off-white head. Lesser head retention.
Aroma: Sour cherries, some oak notes, a strong whiff of vinegar. Clean and nice.
Flavor: Lots of fruit notes with cherries and raspberries chiming in. Nice tart note and a slight bit of funkiness. Very refreshing.
Mouthfeel: Highly carbonated, light on the tongue and it finishes surprisingly clean.
Overall: One of the best sours I’ve had. I could have a couple of these. egajdzis (3636), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of wood, some vanilla, vinegar, cherries, and wild yeast. Taste of cherries, wood, nuts, some acidity, and a tart finish. Snojerk321 (2019), San Diego, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 19, 2009 Tap @ Toronado S.D. Pours a deep reddish brown with a small off white ring. Nice nose of tart cherry, oak tannin and a touch of vinegar. Flavor starts tart with cherry and other berry fruits, then gives way to dry oak and some wine tannin. Awesome stuff. tokyogoat (571), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Pours a reddish brown with a thin egg shell halo.
Nose is tart with cherries, oak, and hints of vinegar.
Taste is fairly sour, slightly puckering up front, cherry, cranberry, nice woody middle, hints of oak, finishes with a touch of vinegar heat. Great beer that is sure to cause ring sting. tarheels86 (799), Washington DC, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 17, 2009 On tap at Churchkey into tumbler. Pours a deep red with almost no head. No lacing. Aroma is very intense Flemish sour: big sour cherries, port wine soaked oak, some lactose, light balsamic vinegar. Taste is similar: sour cherries, raw raspberries, and wild yeast give this an insane sour body that is addictive to the palate. You just want more and more of this! Super drinkable. Just awesome. minch25 (367), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 16, 2009 On Tap at Toronado San Diego. Deep red color; minimal head. Well-soured acidic aroma. Quite sour flavor, medium carbonation; tastes great. This is the kind of Flanders Red that I prefer, more sour cherries and less balsamic vinegar. I don’t know if this is the same beer as the Ommegang Rouge, but I can’t tell any difference and they are both stand out Flemish sours. dagimp (134), Philly, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 13, 2009 On tap at Capone’s. Pours a nice red color. Smell is sour with cherries, like sour cherries! Mouthfeel is nice and light. Taste is sour up front with cherries on the back side. Sourness is not overpowering and blends nice with the sweetness of the cherries. An excellent sour. I tried this along with the Ommegang Rouge, also brewed by Bockor. They were indeed very similar with one being slightly more cherry taste than the other (can’t remember which). But only slightly so and that was probably due to the difference in the age of the beers. TomDecapolis (3203), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 11, 2009 Tap at Capones. Pours a lightly hazy deep copper with a medium creamy off white lacing head. Aroma of tart cherry, green apple and bready notes. Flavor of the same. Great sourness meets tart cherry. Very smooth.
