Live rate, on tap at the Maproom. Glad this was on long enough for me to get down here to try it. Dark clear red with an creamy beige pink head. Sour and earthy funk aromas of raspberries, hay, earthiness, with residual sugars. Tart raspberries and red fruit flavors pucker my lips on first sip, but with the sweetness it’s not too strong. Lightly sweet, red fruits, with some vinegar acidity in the back of the mouth. Body is on the thin side, but this is hardly noticeable with the tart fruit flavors. A solid birthday beer, just what I’m in the mood for.

Aroma of sour apple, raspberries and red grape. Appearance was deep red with creamy head. Flavors of red grape, raspberries and sour apple. Palate was bubbly, mouthfeel was large. Delicious!

On Tap @ Maproom, Pours a really deep slightly muddy ruby color with a fingers worth of tan head. Aroma is sour cherries, wood some light malt undertones. Flavor is balsamic and red wine vinegar with cherries, dark fruit, a little woodiness. Really nice and sour/tart through the back end. Interesting brew from Cantillon.

Draft at The Map Room. Pour is clear dark red with a bit of tan head. Strong nose of tart cherries, and some earthy malt character. Same in the flavor. Quite complexe. Certainly more going on here that a lot of the other sour bombs that I’ve come across.

Draft @ Falling ROck. Pretty dark red with mimimal head. Lots of sour apple and cider vinegar in the nose - taste is the same as the nose, with a little wood at first. FInish is puckering with too much vinegar/vegetable sourness for my liking. OK - not something I’d go back for.

On tap at Toronado San Diego. Deep dark reddish amber color with a small off white head fading to a ring. Sour apple, vinegar, and cherry on the aroma. Flavor is green apple, red wine, vinegar, oak, and sour cherry. Really tasty, not too tart with a mild sweetness to it. Palate is smooth with mild acidity and lively carbonation. Body is medium-light.

draft at falling rock. unfiltered dark burgundy with a black cherry tinged small head. vibrant but soft nose of creamed tart cherry skins, medium wood presence, good, pure pedio. tangy, zesty, rich but not full on the palate. ripe black cherries, tart, sour and mildly acidic (lactic) dark fruit. sugar content is good, acid content well played. body is silky, smooth and light. wonderful stuff.
