thebeertourist (1786), Oslo, Norway Jul 2, 2008 Bottle at De Heeren van Liedekercke. Dark brown colour with evidence of sediment below a stable tan head. Spicy and malty aroma, some vegetable notes. Very bitter, more than a fair share of herbs, also some vegetable flavours. Warming alcohol. Well-carbonated. Special, for sure. daniele (746), Italy Apr 14, 2008 color ambrato carico buona schiuma non molto compatta discretamante persistente note caramellate lieve tostato malto leggera speziatura purtroppo la mia bottiglia non era perfetta un po di metallico e lieviti grossolani in sospensione jerc (3114), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 17, 2008 2008-03-06. Dark brown body with a foamy tan head and modest lacing (3+). Tangy amalt aroma as a lihgt hint of sourness. Modest malt underpinnings. (6+) Similar flavour has that tangy malt character throughout and it lingers in the finish. Light sour caramel in the middle. Average palate. Ok. On tap at De Heeren van Liedekercke, Liedekercke JoeinUccle (666), Brussels, Belgium Jan 24, 2008 Thanks to Sebastian for this one, a tasty, candyish brown ale that leans toward being an abbey dubbel. Toasty beer for a cold day. Pours translucent, dark brown with amber highlights, beige head that fades too fast. Enticing nose of wrinkled dark fruits caramelized in brown sugar. Sweet flavor with depth from mild bitterness, rummy booze notes, caramel malts. Nearly cloying. Soft, pinprick carbonation, maybe a touch thin, warm. A solid house beer for a great beery restaurant. rauchbier (2873), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England Dec 30, 2007 Bottle, at ZBF 2006. Hazy amber, thin off white head and gentle condition. Gentle figgy fruit in the nose, more fruit in the mouth and a gentle chocolate note, low powdery bitterness lingerining in the finish.
