Bottle top with venom but unlike Bon Secours no explosion of froth. Immense frothy head more potent than Duvel, and a cloudy amber colour with a fine aroma. Superb strong flavour early on with real bite, which stays until the end. Hard to put your finger on the flavour but definitely citrus and hops sums it up well. Great beer to watch the Cup Final with altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Feb 6, 2009 From Cracked Kettle. Golden brown body, creamy head. Fruits and spices in the nose. Some caramel, oranges, malts. Nice finish. leaparsons (4659), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Jan 25, 2009 Bottle. Golden brown with a firm cream head. Aromas are spiced oranges with cream. Fresh and yeasty with some caramel. Flavours are soft yeast and bubblegum with oranges, brown sugar and plenty of spices. Warming alcohol on the finish. Good. FatPhil (3443), Espoo, Finland Jan 11, 2009 Hazy rich orange, persistent head. Very sweet fleshy fruit aroma. More winey and berry-like at first, but filling in with sugar and malts and becoming peachy later. Carbonation is fairly lively. Taste is pretty full-bodied. A touch earthy and yeasty. Sugar and spice too. Hops, however, stand out - very biting after a while, and almost numbing. Alcohol is fairly well restrained, but you can tell it’s strong. Interesting strong ale, quite complex, and with many details. However, a touch too earthy in places. Magicdave6 (5383), London, Greater London, England Sep 22, 2008 Bottle on the boat next to the the beer fest at peterborough beer fest.
