(Cask at Angel, Manchester, 22 July 2009) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with wild berries, red fruit and spicy hops. Fruity, malty taste with notes of wild berries, cranberries and a generous citrussy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, balanced sweetness. Very nice and highly drinkable.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag ONails, Bristol, 26/04/09. Medium brown in colour with a slight, off-white head. Sweetish, red fruit and barley sugar aroma. Flavour was also sweet, with some earthiness and a syrupy finish. Drab.

Gravicask at The Bricklayers Arms Lancashire Fest, 15th Sept 2007. Clear light brown with no head. Caramel aroma yet also chemical. Flavour of toffeeish malt with sake hints too. Full bodied but the alcohol is way too evident for a beer of this ABV. It’s ok but flawed.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at The Bricklayers Arms Lancashire Fest. Strange amber orange brown colour. Sweet treacle and malt aroma with some slight buttery notes. Tea and malt flavour, not my thing at all. Slight alcohol in the bitter finish. Next!

Cask (handpump) @ Telford Warehouse, CH1, Chester. Clear light amber color with a small virtually none off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Nice bitter finish. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

Cask @ Camra National Winter Ale Festival, Manchester, UK 26 Jan 2005
Taste related to vomit and nuts (the eatable kind, too). Asked the expertise behind the bar at the festival and they said it is supposed to taste like this. "Masterpiece" my a**. Needless to say, it went down the drain. (Someone said it is better on handpump; here served by gravity directly from the stomach...uhm...cask).
