Cask (handpump) at the Wenlock Arms, April 2008. Gold colour. Very pale with a loose white head. Aroma is quite fruity but, on the palate, it develops a sharp bitterness, with a prominent dry malt undercurrent. Certainly not an aromatic pale beer. Nothing special. Didn’t think it was as bad as the others did but it standards at Boggart definitely seem to have been very variable in the last year or so.

Cask handpull at Wenlock Arms. What has gone wrong with Boggart? Pale gold, thin white head. Not great, bit of bleachyness. Actually pretty awful.

A Mes rate: Cask at the Wenlock.
Slightly hazy pale gold coloured. Full on ice cream and diacetyl aroma. Flavour is thankfully a little better but still with lots of ice cream. There’s an odd dryness to it too. Candy floss finish and just way too sweet all round. I really can’t understand Boggart.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 20/4/08. Deep golden coloured with next to no head. Aroma of honey, apricots and toasty malt. Sweet flavours with more roastiness and a short, dry finish. Ok.
