| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 6, 2006 Bright yellow / golden color without much of a head. Aroma and taste are consistent with malty sweetness, breadiness, and minimal hops. Not bad, but not worth seeking out. Although appearance and head are lacking, this beer is quite crisp, hops announce their presence at the party with a sweet ending. This is not a bitter beer. In fact, is very food friendly (bbq, mex, seafood, etc.). Much better than I expected, though would never be called great. Best of the Mexican beers in its "family". Pours a light and utterly clear yellow with a short-lived white head. The aroma is a nice pilsener hoppiness, quite a bit better than I expected, relatively crisp with some sweet notes. The flavor doesn’t quite live up to the aroma and instead comes closer to matching my original expectations -- pretty watery, mildly sweet through the middle, some light cracker malts going on, a little bit of hops on the finish. I’m pleased that there’s no skunkiness in this one at all.
Not a great pilsener for sure, but this is better than I expected and scores pretty high among the other Mexican beers that I have tried. PilsnerPeter (2617), Flushing, New York, USA

Has a decent malt character and a crisp, light hop finish. Smooth and refreshing. rybowen (105), Los Angeles 90039, California, USA

Good stuff for a hot day and probably the best of the Mexican lightweights. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 17, 2006 (12 oz bottle: BevMo in La Jolla, CA) Fancy bottle and pretty gold foil, but I think this beer is worthy. I can’t recall a better-tasting pale-colored lager from Latin America. Clean, malty flavor is balanced by a grassy, lemony hops with real flavor and a pleasant aftertaste. Not a hint of corn or cardboard to me, just a good, clean, crisp pils. Body is light with ample carbonation. Mild lemon and hops in the nose. The beer is yellowish in color rather than gold or straw, and there’s a very slight haze preventing perfect clarity in the beer. A few streams of large, swiftly moving carbonation bubbles rise toward the surface. The off-white head settles to a thin ring though, so this isn’t the prettiest beer in the glass. But flavor is what really counts for me, and this beer is pretty decent, at least when compared to other pale Mexican lagers.
