Commercial Description:
This South German Style beer, commonly known as Weizen or Hefeweizen (hefe "yeast", weizen "wheat") is an unfiltered pale wheat beer, brewed with certified Czech lager yeast in the traditional Bavarian way. Served with a slice of lemon to achieve a light tart taste.

Draft at brewery, late summer ’09: Cloudy pale yellow. Light and refreshing with a lively carbonation. Fresh tasting. Very light sweetness. Pinch of tartness. Balancing bitterness. Pleasant beer.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover is true... and the same goes for appearances with beer. Beautiful hazy straw color with good size rocky white head that lasts (even with lemon interference I might add, since I tried it with and without lemon). Aroma - what aroma? I’ve sampled this at the brewery and at a few other establishments and it seems to have only a faint citrusy aroma. You might fool me into thinking it was lemonade. Very odd for a beer, that it only has a citrusy aroma... even among wheat beers. Taste is the most disappointing aspect of this beer. It’s nearly flavorless without the lemon. Even Budweiser’s Michelob version of the Hefe-Weizen is closer to a real wheat beer than this. I know this is not strictly a hefe-weizen (as the bar tender said) but it doesn’t resemble any wheats I’ve ever sampled because it is so... utterly... flavorless. What were they thinking? Perhaps they aimed at the Utah 3.2% palate all too well. Mouthfeel is very light but is to be expected with the style. Kudos for making a very "drinkable" beer. You could drink this with just about any food in lieu of ice water. For that matter, why not bring some along when cycling? Note: at the brewpub they market it to the customer as a hefe-weizen. Nobody has told me this is meant to be a krystal-weiss (besides it is very hazy) nor a Berliner weiss.

On tap at the awesome brewpub in SLC. Pours a clear fizzy golden color with a thick white head. The aroma is tons of sweet malts and banana/lemons. The taste was initially a bitter hop presence followed by a super sweet banana and malt, tons of honey also. Very nice and well crafted.

The aroma is sweet with a hint of citrus, and is usually served with several lemon wedges. The appearance is cloudy gold unfiltered. The flavor is not bitter, real smooth, with a citrus aftertaste, and really seems to coat my tongue with a nice creamy film. This is my favorite of the Bohemian Brewery beers and usually drink a half gallon with my pork schnitzel.

Great Utah Beer Run – Summer 2007
On Tap – Sweet wheat aroma with a light light white beer color. This had a sweet wheat flavor with some hints of fruit. This beer was well brewed and finished with a crips flavor nice and good.

on tap-pours a foamy white head and cloudy straw color. Aroma is (raw?) wheat, yeast. Taste is (raw?) wheat, yeast, secondary hops-earthy. OK carbonation.

Poured a hazy yellow color with a fine white head. The nose was very wheaty. The taste was spicey with hops and had a definate wheat character. The finish had a sulfer harshness to it. This weiss was made with lager yeast which doesn’t do this beer any favors. The sulfur taste wasn’t enjoyable, more importantly there’s none of the creaminess that you would expect from hef or wheat ale.

Very clear yellow, kinda like the chlorine test for my pool. Little aroma. The flavor is vaguely yeasty, but is more hop-bitter than anything.
