Sep 1, 2009 On tap at Bold City. It poured a bit of a departure from amber with more of a deep gold body supporting a white head of foam. The aroma is mild in strength bringing up tepid notes of earthiness, malts and little else. The taste is sweet with malts and then it becomes mildly roasty with a thin layer of caramel ‘round about midway. It gets a bit biscuit like as the finish approaches. If there are any hops in this beer there are at just the noticeable level and fail to add any balance to the layers of malty sweetness.

pours golden, white head.
Aroma, malty, light roast and hints of hops.
Flavor, roasted malts, some light hints of coffee and light hops.
As with the rest of the beers by Bold City, it seems a little one dimensional and thin in body.

Aug 2, 2009 On tap @ Bold City. Clear golden yellow. Thin head. Aroma of hops. Some corn scent. Flavor is a crisp hop, stale malt. Finishes with a light hop and dryness. Kinda boring. 25 July 09

Jul 12, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a thin white cap that dissipates quickly. Though I had a pint when the keg was tapped and the head on that one had awesome retention and left crazy lacing. So.... Aroma is biscuity malt, a little cereal grain. Taste is fairly bland, cardboardy dried hops. Watery body. Meh.

May 3, 2009 On tap at the brewery. Clear amber/gold with a small white head. Malty caramel nose. Flavor is very malty and somewhat sweet, a mild nutty bitter late. Decent.

Mar 17, 2009 Pint at the brewery tap room. Bright amber beer with a nice thick white head. Pleasant sweet malt aroma. Flavor is very malty, a little sweetness and a spicy hop finish. Smooth medium body. A very drinkable/sessionable amber. Very nice.

Feb 5, 2009 One of the better beers I had a Bold City. A very nice beer. A little grain with a good amount of smooth malts and caramel flavor. Just a touch of sweetness balances this very well. Pour is a typical amber color with a white to tan head. Nose is malty and with a little caramel. Good job.
