Rather dull sweet grainy yeasty aroma. Medium to full palate. Finish is little fruity, creamy bitter sweet with some light grainy yeasty hints. Misses some balance, not convincing. Earlier Rating: 12/10/2005 Total Score: 3.1 Brown colour, strong white head. Light fruity aroma, malty. Palate is full, dry malty and burnt. Finish is alcohol-bitter, but overall a nice beer. thewolf (5634), Kolding, Denmark Mar 29, 2009 Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk.
Pours brown with some red edges. A medium, fizzy, beige head on top. Aroma is a tad metallic, otherwise has roasted notes, Belgian sugars, a herbal edge and liqourice. High and lively carbonation, on top of an otherwise fair mouthfeel. Flavour is fine. Some maltiness, a little chocolate, some liqourice and a great deal of a herbal finish. There is pepper, cinnamon, anis in there. If only they had held back the carbonation, this might have been quite nice.
