Not really exciting. Sweet, with little body. Seemed like a blend of a wine cooler and a not so great gueuze. Ick....

AMber/burgundy beer with a cream thick head. Carbonation is medium-light. A distictive acetic acid character can be detected in the aroma. Very light, watery flavour with little other than a viscous feel letting you know you are drinking beer and not H2O.

Geez, I needed a corkscrew to get the cork off - usually you can pry them out with your fingers! 1/2" head. Dry and earthy flavors. A bit tannic. Not particularly sour and only a bit tart. It's a darker brown than I expected and the taste is a surprise, too. Not all that complex, but with a watery, dry cherry taste. I don't feel bad dissing this beer, I gave it a faro shot.

Flat, dark orange. Vinous (sherry or shaoxing -- oxidised?), sweet, woody/earthy, slightly funky. I kind of liked it, but even though I've read that draft faro is often flat on purpose a lot of other raters mention head, so I may have got an old bottle. I'll rerate if I run across a fresher one.

red brown with a foam head. complex fruity aroma. hard to place this bbeer, sweet and sour with a rather fruity character , however there was no definitive fruit flavor with some cherry , orange and cranberry in the mix. still a tasty complex beer.

Nutty brown. Sparce sticky head. Nose of worcestershire sauce. Yum. Dry and pleasant, with a spicey lingering aftertaste. Woody vinous and definately drinkable, I do believe a more fresh sample would do this justice.

First of all, I have no idea what a faro style lambic is. I'm really not that into belgian beers. I think i have an idea now. The cork is nearly impossible to remove. I had to walk it out of the bottle. Green glass, which I'm always apprehensive about. The liquid itself pours an orange amber, with a thick white head. Very appealing to the eye. Aroma is very tart and dry, almost intensely so. Slightly wheaty, very little esters, as far as i can tell. It doesn't smell skunked, which is always a good thing. Flavor is very tart, with an enormously dry finish, leaving a sour aftertaste in your mouth for a long time. Hop seem very understated, but a grassy non bitter hoppiness exists. Maybe they use really low alpha. A mild sweetness in the beginning, quickly tapering off to the tart dryness, and finishing with that rough tongue feeling. Very strange beer, but definitley lambic tasting. I don't think I'm really into the style, despite it's popularity.

#999. 12 oz bottle, "SB 01" on cork -- is this the date? Cork very hard to pry off, maybe I just have weak hands; little pop. Pours medium orange-bronze, fizzy head leaves a nice ring. Nose orangey-sweet when the bottle is popped; closer nose from the glass is more barnyardy-sour; interesting overall. Flavor very smooth, nice sweet/sour balance, hints of orange; thinnish and quick end. I like it on the whole, but it isn't the most exciting beer on the planet thats for sure. Nice to finally have a faro, though.
