Perfect balance and indeed one to hide and forget in the cellar! ChristianScheffel (4632), Odense, Denmark

I opened this perfect marriage at New Year’s eve with my wife and family. It pours a hazy orange-brown with a low pink head. The aroma is thick with sweet raspberries - very nice. And the flavours doesn’t dissapoint: raspberry and sweet cherry dominates with some further notes of wood. It is not anywhere near as complex, as say Lou Pepe Framboise, but it is extremely resfreshing All combined, this is something to treasure. TheJollyOne (204), Kofu, Japan
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 18, 2008 Japan seems to still have many a bottle of this retired beer. It’s available in several Tokyo stores. Pours a copper pink color, small off white to grayish head. Smells of unripe raspberries, cherries, a hint of the bitter sweet taste to come. Tastes of sour raspberries with a hint of cherry, moves to bitter quite quickly. Medium and frothy on the palate, slow finish. As a Lambic fan I could have used it a bit sweeter, but a nice brew! badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

Murky brown color with a thin head. Aroma of raspberry jam that was made about 30 seconds ago. Strong, very strong raspberry flavor. Incredibly thick. Lightly tart and some wheat. Not sour at all. Delicious. BDR (2167), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

In any event, a very nice fruit lambic. Not as tart as the regular boon’s but quite nice. In fact, this 2004 bottle had an incredible aroma of fresh raspberry jam with a faint sourness to it. Sweet fresh raspberry jam flavor that was incredible, if sweet. BrianK (190), Livingston, New Jersey, USA

Just like raspberry jam, without being too sweet and then in mouth..... dies in the mouth, bit too sweet. It’s ok, just not fresh enough for me and a tad too sweet.
