Plenty of fresh raspberries in the nose; also a touch of vinegary sourness that is so common to this genre of beer. Aromas are genuine and pleasing - not artificial like many lambics. Acidicy isn’t overpowering; the raspberry flavors dominate and finish with a nice oily residue on the tongue. After a couple of minutes the residue begins to taste a bit like envelope glue, but not necessarily in a bad way. This is a very nice, fresh, organic tasting lambic. oh6gdx (9065), Vasa, Finland

Flavour is sourish sweet with mild raspberry tones coming in, pleasantly balancing up the whole thing. A bit watery to the palate and nicely tickling carbonation. | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 25, 2006 Boon Framboise is an excellent beer. This is one of the more authentic tasting lambics that has not been sweetened to appeal to a wider audience. This beer has a very sour refreshing edge, and some real vinous character. Boon Framboise pours to a beautiful, bright pink color with a thick white head, and a very lively carbonation. The nose on this beer is very complex. Aromas of oak, raspberry, and yeast flood the nose. The palate is firm with tart wheat flavors, notes of raspberry, and oak. This beer finishes with more slightly sweet berry flavors and a crisp, refreshing, sour edge.
This beer is a wonderful aperitif, and also works extremely well as a desert beer. Framboise also works very well as an ingredient in dishes. I would have this beer as an aperitif, or match it with a desert such as a raspberry tart, or perhaps raspberry cheese cake.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 23, 2005 Red-brown body, thin off-white head. Strong raspberry syrup aroma, tart, but not strongly sour. Strong tart raspberry body with some sweetness, leading to a sour, woody bite at the finish. Starts sweet, and then the sourness hits. Perfect complementation. The fruit and fruitskin tumble with the sour wood and must notes for awhile, ending with a light bitter finish. Quite a treat for the raspberry and lambic fan. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
