Sourness dominates next to a sugary sweet raspberry flavor. Some woody tannines. Fruity bitterness in the aftertaste. Boon seems to be on the right track. Nice white head and amber/red coloring, although I would prefer a bit more color depth. Nose is big raspberries with nice light touchs of lime and floral hops (after it settles for a minute). Flavor is well balanced - not too sweet, bitter, or tart. Palate is average. Not an aggressively tart or bitter lambic and, in that sense, a bit too refined for my tastes. I want more of that wild, "what the @!$% was that" flavor in my lambics. Great choice for a dessert beer or a casual summer evening. Fish (439), Kure, Japan
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 5, 2005 Good stuff. Tart-- moreso than the kriek, but very tastey, classy, not-too-sweet. Not overwhelmingly raspberryish either. I prefer this stuff over the kriek for sure. shrubber85 (2995), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 18, 2005 Bottle. Tart raspberry and musty aroma - very nice. Dark red-brown color with no head. Tart raspberry with slight bitter middle and musty lambic finish. I like this beer as it is in between the traditional lambic sourness and cloying commercial fruit lambics with not too much of each - however may be too middle of the road for some. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 15, 2005 Suffering from a hangover, I wanted something fairly light to help me through. I figured that what I assumed was a fairly sweet lambic would do the trick. Pours a dark pink color with a thin pink head. Smells like raspberries. Not quite as sweet as I thought it would be, I definitely see the sour patch kids comparison that the rater below me suggested. Not quite as sour as that though. Nice and tangy with sweet candy raspberries there to contrast the sourness. It’s definitely helping rid me of this hangover. Good job guys. matta (1139), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 8, 2005 Ahhhh… it’s got a sugary sweetness to it… another bunk semi commercialized Fruit Lambic!
Pours a rusty cherry colored body and a muddied light pink head. The aroma has many of the rustic barnyard suggestions of wild yeast, and what seems to be a Geuze base… but there is a fake raspberry aroma and flavor that basically kills the whole feel of this supposedly “old world style beer.” The acidic tartness of the Geuze is still there giving off some cheesy, astringent, offbeat horsy characteristics… but largely… this Lambic seems contrived for the masses and not the aficionados, to which I am neither, IMHO! - This beer reminds me of a fruity candy called Sour Patch Kids. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 5, 2005 This was like drinking a raspberry flavored Tootsie pop. I thought it was too syrupy sweet and overpowered the underlying lambic. Bubbly palate with some sourness and acidity.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 3, 2005 Rich raspberry jam aroma. Hazy red orange borwn color. Small pinkish head. Excellent raspberry flavor, with a crisping tartness in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium light and fairly dry.
