The aroma was full of raspberries, freshly cut grass, tart lemonade powder, and some dirt. The flavor was very tart up front, but soon was dominated by lush raspberries, grass, and lemon. Wonderful crisp, light feel...very refreshing...semi-dry finish. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 23, 2004 This was a 1997 bottle drank with Kimchee, Martint, tiggmtl and Oakes. It pours darker than I expected, a rather deep brown, dirty soil alike with barely no head, but lots of flaoties. Aroma is very leafy with raspberry "coulis" notes, like you’d put over a good ice cream. Hints of old books, dirt and earth. In mouth, acidity level is disappointingly low, it’s earthy with raspberry grains flavors, but ultimately just too sweet to be enjoyable. mouthfeel is thin-medium with moderate carbonation. Cloying finish with more of the leafy aspect. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | May 23, 2004 Strong, sweet raspberry dessert aroma. Fairly, clear reddish brown with pink-brown head that diminishes quickly and completely. Very sweet raspberry, sugar and cream flavours with a gentle pull of tartness around the tongue. Body is light. Carbonation very low. Very tasty dessert-like liqueur but not a lot of lambic character. (Bottle - green - 1997 vintage - enjoyed with MartinT, mr_kimchee, Oakes and Rastacouere). wulfhere (217), Billings, Montana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 27, 2004 Deep red body with a thin, effervescent head that "poof" vanishes.
Nose is cidery, with definite bitter cherry tartness and fruity bouquet.
Thin body, tart, pungently sour with great cherry flavor. I do like this Boon offering. MrDick (277), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 15, 2004 1997 Pours a leathery brown color. Aroma of tart fruit. The first sip is a bit unsettling as it's much more sour than expected but not too unpleasant. Strong fruit flavors of cherry and rhubarb. A slight bit of earthy textures. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Mar 22, 2004 bottled: pours brown with a pinkish-red hue with some haziness to it. head is tan pink.
the nose is unmistakeable...framboise with hints of earthy dustiness. when it hits your tongue you shut up like a excited turtle. tartness is quite powerful then you start to encounter the raspberries and they are strong and in your face...rather clean ending. with a nice bubbley character on the palate. this one definately needed to cellar a bit more, to get a more complex flavor, the raspberries were predominant here. the women love this, gotta try it again in an earlier vintage or after a cellar it for a few years. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 11, 2004 Pink topaz color with a light pink, dense head. Wait just turned bloody brown (with lots of chunks) with the last pour. Unattended raspberry patch aroma. Light fresh raspbeery start. Mid sip dust and must come into the action. Late syrup quality or perhaps feel would be a better way to put it. Quite nice on the palate. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

Wonderful aroma of wood, cask, cork, white pepper, light vinegar. Good mix of sugars with the sourness, tart; smooth (the age!), with a delicate fruitness, raspberries. Perfect balance!
