JagerQueen (123), Shoreline, Washington, USA Jul 20, 2004 Pours a light reddish pink color, a little purple in hue. Light pink lacing and head. Aroma is musky, very raspberry and the slight mustardy sense that joins the framboise. Taste is very sweet, a little tart, sharp, musky, raspberries and vanilla. Pretty typical for a good framboise, better as it warms.
illidurit (400), Santa Cruz, California, USA Sep 2, 2008 12 ounce bottle poured into a Unibroue goblet. Persian red body with a full finger of pinkish tan head. Good retention, some filmy lacing.
Aroma is deep black cherry flesh and raspberry seeds. Quite a sweet nose.
Flavor is also sweet. Black cherry yogurt with just-underripe raspberry drupelets. A little acetic acidity sticks to the palate.
Sweet and a bit sticky, good dessert beer. Extremely drinkable, but simple and on the cloying side. jeremytoni (568), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Sep 1, 2008 From a bottle poured a little amber colro with a small head. Flavor of trat raspberries with a lingering finish. Jonte (376), Gothenburg, Sweden Aug 24, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy dark red/brown color with a small pink head. Aroma: Sweet and tart, raspberry, barnyard and yeast.
Flavor: Tart, sour and sweet with notes of raspberry, yeast, wood, wheat and some bitterness. The finish is a bit dry. Tmoney99 (3548), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 16, 2008 Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured hazy reddish color with moderate frothy reddish white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Good tart raspberry aroma. Medium body with smooth texture. Moderate sweet raspberry flavor with a solid tart fruit finish of moderate duration.
TheGrandMaster (1451), Auckland, New Zealand Jul 25, 2008 Bottle (in NZ), poured a cloudy pinkish brown, with a foamy pink head. A tangy sour aroma of raspberries. Sour on the palate, but also acidic - hinting that it hasn’t enjoyed the long journey to NZ. Raspberry and some banana flavours. The finish is mroe full, creamy and salty. I’ve tasted it in better nick than this - shame.
