Mar 11, 2008 2008-03-01. Bright ruby red body, headless. Modest aroma is fruity raspberry that steadily grows in both the aroma (7+) and flavour. Pure tart raspberry flavour is sweet and sour, juicy fruit but not saccharine. Average palate is still but feels right for the beer. Very interesting! One of the more exciting beers at the festival.

Mar 9, 2008 A Mes rate: Barrel at the Night of the Great Thirst.
Awesome pinky blood-red colour. Raspberry with a hint of cherry and some faint but clear barnyard notes. Nice and juicy but just a touch on the syrupy side for my liking although I know there was no syrup used. A little one dimensional maybe but still very good.

Mar 7, 2008 On tap at ZBF 08. Vermillion colour with a slight haze. From the cask. Lovely pippy raspberry. In fact one of my favourite beers of the day. Sweet, sour, juicy and dry all in one go. Far better than the Kriekenlambik in my opinion.

Hazy red/pinkish flat body. No head whatsoever. Sweet winey aroma of raspberry with some vanilla. Lightly sweet, moderately bitter flavour. OK balance. Very nice and smoothly.

Mar 3, 2008 Could be either a good or bad thing that I didn’t see this beer at ZBF until near the end of the day. Had I found it sooner, I might have been drinking it all day and missed everything else. Pours a deep red, totally flat on top. Big, big raspberry and blackberry nose, lemony notes. Flavor has a light sweetness balanced by that tart, unmistable berry flavor. A bit clean, sharp at the end, tangy. A nice experience.

Mar 3, 2008 Clear red-raspberry coloured nice looking beer with no carbonation nor head. Very ferm fruity raspberry aroma. Full palate. Finish is very light sour fruity with clear strawberry touches. Very nice.
