ZBF2008: From cask. Pours dark red, slight hazy and no head. Mild sweet raspberry. Flavour is dry raspberry, slight woody and sulphorish. Goes into a dry woody finish with a subdued fruity note.

Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Clear red, slightly hazy. Fresh raspberry aroma. CItric and intense with balanced acidity and concentrated raspberry flavour. Complex, yet refreshing. Probably the best beer made with raspberries.

Draught @ <a href=http://ratebeer.com/events-detail.asp?eventID target=_new> Zythos Bier Festival 2008, Sint Niklaas, Belgium. Light unclear red color with a virtually none appearance, virtually none lacing head. Aroma is raspberry - green apple sour, raspberry, red wine, wood, cask wood, notes of vanilla. Flavor is moderate sweet, moderate to light heavy acidic - tart - sour, moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. Very nice ;o)) (020308)

Cask at ZBF09. Mild acidic aroma, hint of fruit. Beautiful clear dark red colour. No head. The flavour is slightly sweet, some berry notes. Not sour, only a hint of acid. Berry bitterness in the finish. Quite a mild fruit lambik, but nice enough.

Draught @ Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation 2008. Muddy red with no head and tons of floaties. Aroma has discrete raspberry and fish notes. Sweet flavor with raspberry and off notes. This one went wrong.

On tap at ZBF 08. Vermillion colour with a slight haze. From the cask. Lovely pippy raspberry. In fact one of my favourite beers of the day. Sweet, sour, juicy and dry all in one go. Far better than the Kriekenlambik in my opinion.

A Mes rate: Barrel at the Night of the Great Thirst.
Awesome pinky blood-red colour. Raspberry with a hint of cherry and some faint but clear barnyard notes. Nice and juicy but just a touch on the syrupy side for my liking although I know there was no syrup used. A little one dimensional maybe but still very good.
