Bottle. Low fluffy and quickly disappearing white head. Hazy dark orange body. Fruity sour wood earth aroma. Sour to acidic smooth wood grapefruit flavor. Low carbonation. Long sour aftertaste.

From bottle, blind #6, 1986 vintage, courtesy of thewolf. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a fully gone head. Fruity and light sourish aroma. Spiced and phenolic too. Dry, acetone, fruity and spiced flavoured. Slight chemical flavoured into a mild acetone finish. Slight throatburn into the far finish.

Bottle. [thank you, Joris]
[Bottle #6 in the Kolding Blindtasting, 20th June 2009]
[vintage 1986]
Pours dark brownish red with a small, bubbly rim of off-white foam. Aroma is tart, soft cherry, light caramel and funkiness. Soft carbonation, great dry mouthfeel. Flavour is seriously mouth-puckeringly tart. Still lots of cherries, a hint of peach and a good, balanced note of caramel and funkiness. Lightly warming as well.

NOTE: This is the first time, I’ve ever opened a bottle of beer, where the cork had a worm in it... thankfully, the cork still sealed off the beer nicely.

1983 bottle @ Kulminator. Pours light red with wispy white head. Aroma is slightly sour and a bit musty. A good bit of acetic acid as well. Taste is absurdly sour to the point of drying your mouth out. With 26 years of age on it, there are only vague hints of cherries in the flavor. Finish is more sour, of course. While definitely fun to drink, I’m not sure I could ever do the entire 750 by myself. Serious sour goodness!

Hazy red with a medium white head. Sour aroma with barnyard sour cherries, almond and wooden notes. Flavour was very sour with notes of sour cherries, wood, straw, almonds, barnyard and lemonds. FInished seriously sour. Love it and by far the best product I have ever tasted from Frank Boon!

101st rating of this epic lambic. Bottle via trade, by dr bill’s estimate based on the label, he thinks this bottle is from anywhere between 1987 and 1992. Bottle @ Post Belgian Fest killer tasting dubbed Sea O’Floydster, with a load of cool people including Cquiroga, floydster, seaoflament and many others including my girlfriend and dr.bill. Pours pink with no head. Nose is sweet cherry and lightly tart. Taste is sweet, tart, mellow and very very nice. I really enjoyed this.

750 ml bottle, 1995 vintage, into glass. Cheers to Christmas! Cork was in there tightly and took some wiggling to get out, but no pop at all. No carbonation/head at all. Great crystal clear red body with some orange to the hue. The aroma is fresh sour cherries with a hint of barnyard funk. The flavor is a notch up from the aroma. More potent and lively, yet still smooth and tamed. A bit sour and funky, but mostly fruity and dry. Overall: very nice easy going brew. I probably should have saved this to have it with desert, but couldnt wait any longer!
