Bottle shared by sliffy. Pours a hazy dark red color with a smallish pink head. Aroma is oak, tart cherries, vinegar. Flavor is again tart cherries, oak, citrus, vinegar. Palate is medium bodied, mildly carbonated, finished sour. Pretty good, but just doesn’t do it for me.

Shared by sliffy. Very funky aroma, light cherries and wood. Deep red body with a thin head. Medium to full palate for the style with perfect carbonation. Nice lightly sour flavor with an oak flavor and a tinge of sweet cherry. Easy to drink for sure.

1994ish Bottle: Pours a hazy red color with a pinkish white head. Aroma, woody, cherries, oak and some acidic funk. Flavor, very dry up front, with the cherries, and a great funky sour finish. Balanced, and quite tasty, it’s held up quite well.

1995 750 ml bottle. Shared with the RB crew at Spuyten over the summer 07. Pours a mostly clear dudirn the first pours but gets osme wierd yeasty chunks towards the last few pours. Aroma of typical oude lambic- lots of funk- wierd harsh chloriney notes, old oaky wood, cherry juice, grenadine hints, and some strawberry. More woody flavor with tart woody astringent tart cherry pit note- winey red wine vinegar acetic acid tart-sourness. Tons of cherry pit almonds and cherry pie-pediococcus quality. Nice sour finish. This was really nice- and held up way better than the framboise.

Bottle from Toronado. Best by 2025 I believe... hard to read the bottle in a dark bar. Cloudy golden orange, moderate to large head, good lacing and retention. Aroma is huge barnyard action. I wanted to fall into the glass. Fairly acidic but not as extreme as Cantillon. Medium bodied, moderate acidity. Big without being messy. Kick ass.

1995 bottle generously shared at Spuyten Duyvil in 2007. Deep red brew with a thin pinkish head and loads of suspended particles. Very sweet sherryish oxidation, cherry sweetness with lots of vineous character as well. Soft woodiness throughout. Surprisingly sweet and fruity after all this time. Late acetic acid and tartness on the back. It’s showing its age but it’s still a fantastic brew.

1995 - Red brown body with a huge creamy white head; Medium sized nose with lots of age to it, very oxidized with a very little kriek behind; Huge soft carbonation in slightly sour soft body; Medium long only a little sour finish, slightly dry, very little fruity aroma. Way to old.

I had this as the Mariage Parfit but have been told it was a mis-label by an importer so who the fuck knows. Easily the best of the Boon products I have and complex. Page 61 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide and only 199 of his 500 Classic Brews in this book to go.
