Bitter sweet cherries flavor with low carbonation and unfortunately the aftertaste is strangely short. durhambeer (1224), Durham, USA

I love the color, the texture, and the tart fruit. There’s a time and place for more complex beers, but it’s nice sometimes to have an easy treat. Nice bright red-burgundy pour with fizzy white head. Sweet/tart cherry nose with slight metallic edge. Similar taste, with a little creaminess. Would have liked it more sour, but as I said, it was a simple treat. Drank it in about 5 minutes. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Bottle (2005): Poured a ruby red with a pink color head. The aroma seems cherry a bit syrup. The taste was sweet cherry with a dry tart tingly tongue finish. stefanje (949), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 10, 2008 12 oz bottle from Bevmo. Pours a reddish purple color with a small pink head. The nose is rich with berries--mostly cherries, but also some raspberries. The flavor is also loaded with cherries, mostly sweet, with just a bit of tartness. The mouthfeel was medium with adequate carbonation. The finish had a Vick’s cough syrup type of flavor. Overall: Not a bad offering, but I would have preferred more sour tartness. nparikh (20), New York, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 9, 2008 I had heard a decent bit about this and was expecting something more like Cantillon’s krieks with this one; wound up more like Lindemans. Pours deep blood red; I agree with others who said the look is the best part. It’s just way sweet, and the texture becomes a bit syrupy due to the amount of fruit in there. Not refreshing, almost cloying. It’s disappointing, especially since it can be quite expensive. Curious to try Boon’s non-fruit lambics though. cgarvieuk (4212), Edinburgh, Scotland

It is dark red, a tad hazy, with a huge light pink had that is creamy and slowly shrinks to a lasting medium head leaving beautifyul, rich, even lace. It looks beautiful, but goes downhill from there. The aroma is mostly vanilla with a hint of cherry, a light yeasty-earthy quality, rather pungent in a sweet, vanilla way and pleasant but a bit odd for qwhat I was expecting. The taset is clearly not too swet, but it also is not very tart, being mostly dry with a very light sourness and faint hints of sweetness and tartness. It also is rathe rbland, with clear but very light cherry and yeasty, mostly earthy, qualities. It’s a bit watery. While not bad, this is not remotely as good as expected and not worth the money. josarah (106), Hinesburg, Vermont, USA
