Very powerful aroma of cherries and hints of oak too. Very smooth sour cherry flavour that ends up dry and very refreshing. A nice kriek. xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 29, 2006 Bottled. Sour, floral detergent clean aroma with tart cherry underpinning. Thin redwhite head on red grape body. Much tarter and real than lindemans, still notably quite sweet. A good deal perhaps for an acolyte who noticess the thinness of lindemans but whose palate isn’t yet adjusted to real lambic. Still, wish there was a step further beyond this, because this is still unnecessarily sweetened - there needs to be a further middle ground. I’m not a big fan of the cherry flavor overall and particularly here. Also, it’s barely detectable that this is beer or alcohol at all, it has more of a juice character, it makes little impression on the palate. IT’s a bit thin and one dimensional. Dark ruby pour. Nice bubbly strawberry head. Aroma of cherries and slightly sour in back of the nose. Flavor again mildly sour. Cherry tones were very present. Sweet turns to subdued sourness. The flavor mixed very well. Good carbonation. Dry finish. I enjoyed this. The aroma and flavors went extremely well together. jmuhops (663), Winchester, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 15, 2006 Pours red with a huge pink head. Strong cherry aroma with some light vanilla coming through. Smells like one of those cherry cream candies. The flavor starts sweet and then turns tart and a little funky on the back of the tongue. Dry, tart cherry aftertaste, with some of the funk lingering. Between Lindeman’s and Oud Beersel on the sweet to tart/funky scale. auderale (572), Fairchild AFB, Washington, USA

I had a couple over the course of Saturday night. Gorgeous ruby colour, lasting pink head. Dark cherry and vanilla ripple ice cream aroma. Sourness is understated. Creamy but not too sweet in mouth. Cherry fruit is really integrated well. Then finish has some sourness and dry. My favourite kriek. The balance and flavours on this were exquisite. 4.8/5.0
Re-rate. I’ve had the 2004 and 2005 at home and although still good perhaps I have been over generous mabjork (580), Vasa, Finland
