The aroma is sour cherries and a light barnyard. Maybe a hint if leather. The taste is leathery with a sour cherry kick. The finish is oily and has a dry lemon character. I like this one, but after a while you get a strange bitter aftertaste. IslandHaole (1035), Onna-Son, Okinawa-Ken, Japan
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 3, 2005 2001 Vintage- A slightly hazy wine color. Like liquified cranberry sauce. Has a similar scent too, some fruit sweetness but that tinny aged quality too. Cherry and wood, some tartness in the follow but very sweet up front. More drinkable than the way too sweet Belle-Vue or the "Uber-tart" Cantillon. Something between this and the Cantillon would be great. tobias (155), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

The sourness is too light but the good thing is that it’s not too sweet. Nice yeatiness to it but not a lot going on. HumuloneRed (750), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 31, 2004 Pinkish the with a nice head that fades fast but have good lacing. Sweet cherry lifesavers nose. Nice sweet bready cherry flavor with a sour background. Could have more sour for balance I think. Overall very drinkable. CampbellWilson (533), Scotland

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 5, 2004 Clouded, bloody red appearance, decent head formation. Noticeable cherry, grenadine aroma, pungent cheesey balance. Sweet cherry flavor, woody tones add balance not much complexity and fairly thin in body. Nate (2552), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 26, 2004 2002. Sweet syrupy black cherry aroma with light fruity hops. Strawberry juice pink-grey, hazy, with light pink lacing foamy head. Medium body with high carbonation. Starts with cherry sweetness, mild bitterness. Bit watery throughout and too sweet. Not enough gueuze sourness to counterbalance the watery sweetness. Kind of disappointing.
