375 ml corked bottle. Dark pink cloudy appearance with a pink head. Sweet cherry pie aroma. Aroma is mostly of sweet cherries, with a touch of tartness thrown in. A little too sweet. Needs some of that classic lambic tartness to balance things out, but otherwise a nice dessert brew.

On draught at The Bishops Arms, Göteborg, Sweden. Dark cherry red. Rich fruity aroma from cherry seed. Flavour: Sorbet cherry up front, followed up by wild strawberry. Soda pop, but good.

Bottle: Deep, dark red color with quickly diminishing pink/red head. I’ve had mixed experiences with Krieks - some being excellent and refreshing and others being just overloaded with cherry sweetness. This is one of those beers with too much cherry and sugar. It takes over the flavor of the beer, drowning out any/all of the characteristics of the lambic this beer is based on. Tastes like cherry, cherry, and more cherry, with some nice wood notes in the background. Similar in carbonation and mouthfeel to a gueuze, this beer simply lacks variety and balance in its taste.

Dark red with rapidly fading pink head. Sweet cherry aroma. Flavor is sweet cherry. Only a hint of sourness/tartness. An easy introduction to lambics.

Big, sweet cherries to start. Dark red with pink tinged head that recedes to ring. Sweetness continues in the flavour. Cherry candy with light tartness in the finish. Excellent body with lively, efferevescent mouthfeel. Lambic for beginners perhaps or just aimed for mass market appeal. Bottle (green - Mondial 2004).

27th beer of the 2004 Montreal Mondiale. Pink beer, lighter head. Aroma is quite pungently cherry, kind of woody. Taste is sweet, but cut by a nice acidity. Peppy palate. Good for that hot sun.

Small pinkish head over a clear ruby hue with light brown reflects. Aroma is strong with intense cherry/raspberry flavors accompanied with vanilla, cream, fruit syrup and faint cask wood. Taste is very sweet, slightly cloying even with a faint acidity, too restrained oaky notes, leafy. Unbalanced sugar oriented dessert just like their framboise. Great full body though with sparkling carbonation. Bottom line: Children Lambic.

Bottled, best before Oct. 16 2005. Fruity, flowery and lightly sugary aroma, some tartness, light citrus, berry and of course cherry, with a faint herbal woodiness evident. Medium garnet in color, semi-hazy with a pinkish, lightly foamy head. Flavor is sweet to start, becoming tarter as it progresses, with plenty of juicy cherry throughout and a very light twinge of sourness. Finishes sweet again. Body is light and airy, mouthfeel is smooth and gently effervescent. Lacking complexity but very nicely refreshing. Kind of a side note, after having also previously had the New Belgium Transatlantique the addition of this beer to New Belgium’s was even more evident.
