Tallahassee, Fl. - New Leaf Market - 12 oz (355 ml) caged cork bottle. Pours a dark, ruby red with a nice pink head. Fresh aroma of sour cherries and some musky odor. Flavor is full of good cherry sourness - kind of reminds me of a cherry sweet tart - just the right balance of sweetness and sourness. Mouthfeel has a pleasant carbonated zing to it. Very decent.

(trade from Jaxson) Pours with pretty much zilch carbonation. No foam and cloudy body. Aroma of cherries. Sour cherry flavor. Based on other reviews I’m guessing the bottle lost its carbonation. The cork says SB05 on it if that means anything. Will have to try another bottle sometime for a rerate.

On tap@Zythos Beer Festival 2009. A thin beige head over a golden red colored body. Inviting sour-sweet cherry aroma. Sweet, still fresh cherries in the flavor, with an acidulous touch. A hint of almonds and citrus. Juicy mouthfeel. Quite well-bodied. Very easy to like, very easy to drink.

Bottle - pours pinkish-amber wiht a frothy, slightly pink head. Sweet cherries on the nose, but not too overpowering. The taste is mellow tart cherries with a bit of hops at the end. There’s a little sourness in there also. The tiny bubbles give it a creamy feel on the tongue. This isn’t the most flavorful or complex beer, but very smooth and pleasant. I could drink a lot of this.

Crushed with Jakebra and CaryTheDude. Big, medicinal cherry nose. Sweet, almost like cough syrup. No real complexity. Still tastes alright, though. Especially if you’re introducing others to krieks.

Crushed with Jakebra and Honkeybra. Interesting cherry nose. Very sweet, some tartness. Tastes too much like straight cherry juice. Not complex at all. Very drinkable, smooth nice flavor, but it’s boring.

Date: 5/2/09 Beer info: Bottled in green 750ml corked bottle 4.0% abv BB 26/03/2012 Sampling Notes: Served chilled in pilsner glass Pours an attractive murky black body with a small dense tan head. Good pop on uncorking, pours a deep purple-ruby body with a creamy bit of pink head. Prominant cherry on the nose, sour cherry more specifically, slightly almondy and yet somewhat sweet. Subtle oakiness in the background, doesn’t allude to much tartness or acidity though. Body is a bit fuller than expected, slight stickiness/sweetness about it, lively carbonation. Acidity is particularly low for the style, bit of wheaty drying. Almost candy-like cherry flavour, hint of tannic, vinous dark berries (blackberry, blueberry), bit of sherberty maltiness(?), touch of oak and spice, faintest bit of funk on the finish, which is quite smooth and restrained. It’s delicious, but is a bit too sweet and one-dimensional to meet my lambic needs. Very good regardless.
