Aroma has yeat and lots of of fermented fruits and berries. At least apples, banana and even fresh cranberries in the finish. Flavor is sour and acidic. Texture is quite carbonated but still surprisingly smooth. Long, sticky finish with fermented berries and fruits. Medium bodied. Quite "heavy" for a geuze because of the fermented elements and relativeli high alcohol content. Alcohol is still totally absent in the aroma. Good stuff! Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA

Flavor of hard water and sour apples. Bits of melon rinds, and stinky funk like compost air hanging in a humid breeze. Bretty, dried out, leathery, and farm-like; traditional, appreciable simplicity. Firm acidity, and a mild stone fruit brightness, softening.
Somewhat full in the mouth, with a scattered prickly texture, like insects. Finishes quickly, with a grassy bitterness and gravelly cheese rinds. Far from a starter kit example, but lacking the subtlety of something more advanced, it’s satisfying on the simplest of levels. minch25 (367), Columbus, Ohio, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2008 Busting my doctor-ordered beer fast. Bottle from SL. Poured a pretty foamy, fizzy, lively hazy golden with a large initial head, some lacing all the way down. The aroma was light funk, lemongrass, leather, bret. The flavor followed suit, but it was tame, not a harsh variant within the style, actually a tad on the boring side, but perhaps more highly drinkable than others. Unfortunately, the flavor was a little too tame and accompanied by metallic notes, which didn’t do wonders for me. Mouthfeel was light to moderate for the style, finishing mildly acidic. Man, this was a letdown even after a 2wks absence from drinking alcohol. You’d think a poor hungry man getting a saltine after a day or more of fasting would come across as one of the finest delicacies around! Oh well, not in this case.
