Pours a semi-transparent orange brown with a milky wheat head... Aroma of a nice gueuze with solid sour oak notes and funkiness. Solid aroma that’s for sure... Flavors are a little bit lacking and don’t live up to the nose. Very lightly sour and tart that quickly dries up soon after consumption. Very drinkable even despite the high abv (8%) for a lambic. theisti (1693), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 9, 2009 2003 Vintage, 750 ml bottle purchased mail order from South Bay in Imperial Beach, California. Best before 07.02.27 marked on the label. Paired with mussels. Pour is orange golden almost clear, with a nice white head. Became a bit more hazed towards the bottom of the bottle. Aroma is immediate barnyard, which clears pretty quickly. After it opens up, funk and light orange citrus tartness takes over. Soft and balanced nose. Taste is earthy, funky, tart, softly sour and lactic vinegar. Very complex, yet nuanced. There is a ton going on, but no of the flavor jumps out or is too aggressive. Just softly tart and lactic - just perfect with mussels, tart. The brett shines nicely in the back. Palate is effervescent, light bodied super smooth and balanced. Just crazy drinkable. I loved this. jkwalking05 (1501), Arlington, Texas, USA

I’ve purchased 3 or 4 of these bottles without really getting an accurate rate. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a thin frothy white head. Aroma is dusty funky cheesy sharp tart acidic. Flavor is somewhat cheesy, tangy metallic bitter, noticeable alcohol for sure. Not as good as I remember it. Watery body, sparse but sharp carbonation. I remember this being better. cederdorff (15), holstebro, Denmark

Sour aroma with hints of lemon, earth and oak. The taste was tart but not extreme in any way.
Lemon, grapefruit, wood and some grass in the taste. The ending was very dry where funk was clear.

Nose is pleasantly tart and slightly vinous and has aromas of apples, citrus, earth and oak. Flavour is similar with elements of cider, lemon, grapefruit, earth, grass, wood and mineral water; also the sourness, while still very present, is not as extreme as some other examples of this style. Dry mouthfeel is followed by a long bitter/sour finish and the alcohol is very well hidden. A great beer, one that I would love to try after aging for ten years or more. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 19, 2009 2005 Vintage: projectile cork and massive fizz is not a great start to quite Monday night beer! Big white fizzy head that just won’t quit. Orange / pricot body is slightly hazy. Nose is fresh and grapey, and plenty of mineral and tangy cut stone. Lots happening. Surprisingly soft to drink and not at all aggressive. I suspect the didgy cork might be at play as the fizz was a bit lower than expected and the flavour intensity not at ’11’ as I might have expected. Sour fruits and a stone fruit finish, although it all falls a bit flat. Will try another soon.
