Very strongly sour aroma, with a lot of wheat and yeastyiness. Somewhat wine-like. Maybe this bottle isn’t as good as the others have rated since there’s such a discrpancy in taste. Very mild lambic, fruity - tart, but not too sour. Lots of honey flavor, but no sweetness (as expected). notalush (2660), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 17, 2006 I’ve never seen a bottle of beer labeled "best before 2025" - cool - cloudy golden pour, with a very small head of HUGE bubbles - the aroma is of a very dry white wine, with some hints of oak - very dry flavor, even for a lambic - I braced myself for an extreme sourness and brett funk, but neither really materialized (at least not nearly as much as I expected them to) - quite soft carbonation - very acidic (I had heartburn within a few sips) - quite vinous, with a very strong wood character - a light, refreshing, and easy to drink lambic - that’s kind of a first for me, and I’m not sure if it’s a good or a bad thing. erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2006 Pours clear golden with a champagne like head. Aroma is of sauvignon blanc grape skins with an acidic, malic bite and a certain woody earthiness from the brett. The body is bone dry, no two ways about it. The flavors are acidic as all hell and are complimented by a soft winey oakiness that lends a velvety vanilla character. Really lovely and refreshing. bindpmc (88), San Diego, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 13, 2006 Lasting white head over a very muddy orange pour. Nice subtle nose, not overly sour as one might expect. Flavor is balanced for a lambic - not too sweet, not too sour. An underlying wood tone lies beneath the other flavors of tart chardonnay and even a little citrus. Champagne texture with lots of bubbles. Gueze is not a variety I have a lot of experience with, but this one was quite enjoyable. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA

Nose is surprisingly light, has some light and semi-sweet horseblanket, dust, and some fluffy yeast scents. Flavor is very subdued, with subtly sour acidity and a slightly musty finish. Flavors of light pears and white grapes, again, subtle. Something to appreciate, but I prefer something more active on the palate. Color is a cloudy yellow.

2003 vintage bottles are nasty - sulfuric, eggy, solvent-like, vegetal. Barf. Rating would probably be in the low 3s.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2006 Pours moslty clear medium gold with lively carbonation and a nice thin lasting head. Good cobweb-like lacing as well. Aroma is the typical lactic sourness, with brett, and sour patch kids. Flavor is lightly sweet upfront with a salty characteristic which gives way to the traditional tartness and sourness of the lambic. Bretty, and barnyard all the way through, with a moderate to light acidity overall. Almost seemed like it should have been more sour as it was almost too easy to drink. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 7, 2006 Beer pours attractive honey golden color with a retained off white head. Very refined artisnal vinegar aroma with some barnyard notes as well. Fravor is very enjoyable sour notes with some good yeast flavors as well. Refreshingly sour. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 28, 2006 375ml. bottle. Lightly hazed golden color with a small white head that quickly dissipates. Nice funky barnyard aroma with notes of leather, wet hay and light citrus. Very dry and mildly tart flavor that was unfortunatley lacking in a lot of flavor. Some tart funkiness, but overall was just too dry for my liking. Very aggressive carbonation had the tiny bubbles clinging to my lips as I took a sip. Good, solid gueuze, but not one of the best I’ve tried.
