Bottled in 2005. 375 ml corked and caged. Clear pale orange beer with fine laced bubbles arising throughout. The aroma is fairly sweet and honeyish, apricot and peachy notes underneath a soft funky yeastiness. A bit of lactic acidity hanging about with some soft dusty aromas. Flavour is very dry and dusty. Very subtle flavour. Texture is very creamy and spritzy. As the temperature comes up, the peachy fruit comes forward a bit more. Brett funkiness is there, but is is quite soft. I’d love to get this with about 5 years on it. An extremely elegant brew.

Golden colour with a white head. Slightly barnyard aroma. Flavor has some nice barnyard sourness and refreshing. Long sour aftertaste.

375mL bottle, unkown vintage. Sparkling yellow gold with a large rocky white head. Acetic acid and plastic phenolic aroma, some wet leather and decaying leaves. Tart grainy flavor, melds to acetic acid and barnyard flavors/wet hay and fungus. Phenol plastic and astringent sourness in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium light, very dry.

(Bottle, 2001 vintage? 10/2005) I was disappointed again and again by not finding this beer in multiple, reputable pubs (in either current or vintage form) in multiple cities through Belgium. I finally came across it at ’t Waagstuk in Antwerp. It was delicious. It was an excellent example of what gueuze is: poured like a fine champaigne, spritzy with a quickly dissipating head and remarkably clear (poured correctly and never raised vertically with just a bit o’ yeast discarded first -- into my stomach, perhaps a faux pas) with all the joys of the farmyard ... leathery aromas with hints of wet-dog and horse-blanket. Sour notes predominate with a wonderfully complex palate of gastric acids and perfectly bodied deliciousness with just a hint of tanins attacking the back of my throat. Not for the faint-of-heart. Try some today.

Hazy golden orange with a small thick white head. Soft woody barn aroma with hints of citrus. Flavour starts with wheat and hay with some lemon but moves to a woody and tart finish. Mellow and round mouthfeel. A nice lambic.

375 bottles courtesy of goldtwins. Slightly hazy, golden-yellow, huge rocky head, long lasting, decnt lacing. Aroma, musty barnyard funk, faint tart citrus. Flavor has a quick tart hit, fades to vinegar, slightly acidic through middle. Finishes very dry, cork and wood tannins. Better the second time around.

Hazy dull brown, with a fluffy white head. Beautifully fresh aroma, lightly musty. Not jaw-shockingly sour, but solid in the barnyard department, with some acidity and tartness keeping the palate entertained like a bacteria at a cesspool party.

Bottle shared by Nuffield. Big brett nose that is seriously sharp and frsh. Wonderful nose. Lots of horse and barn funk. Taste-mildly acidic, low-medium brett flavor, light smoke, wheaty, citric, good mildly lingering sharp aftertaste. That big nose makes the mild flavor kind of a let down, but it is still overall very good.
