Bottle thanks to Gerrit vintage ’03 tasted during First Annual Chicago Sour Tasting. Cloudy orange with small to medium , creamy white head. Cheesy, sweaty, a little tart aroma with a little sulphur, dirty. Flavor is grainy, a little alc, cheesy, tannins, metallic, bitter, earthy. Medium to light with light carbonation. Not really all that great.

Draft poured on tap at Binnys South Loop (Chicago, IL). A chance at a nice draft sour. Pours a glowing hazy yellowish orange marmalade hue. Small white bubbly head that dissipates to a few bubbles that cling to the corners, no real lacing. Aromas are a nice sourness up front, some barnyard funk moves in, but the sourness remains on top. Light champagne, oakiness, with a nice dryness. I’m excited. Initial is a bit more subdued, sourness dies to tartness, hay and barnyard further into the body, grass and light leather, the sourness coats as it goes down, lighter than anticipated, a bit funky. Green apples, soft cheese with a bit of funk. Light body, good flavors that could benefit from a bit more sourness. Although, this would be quite the wonderful summer outdoor sipper. Finish light funk, light sourness on the palate. Tart, refreshing. Solid, leaves a little to be desired for me for some reason.

fuzzy light orange, thin small-bubbled head. sour cherry and green apple candy aroma. flavor is tart -- under ripe green apples, but also has a sweetness that makes it not too dry. very little horse. high carbonation, very fizzy medium body.

Very bretty, musty, funky and mellow on both the nose and flavourwise. Aroma a tad more interesting then the flavour though with odd but nice cheese notes. The alcohol is nowhere to be seen in this brew wich makes it very dangerous as its at same time very easy to drink with no harsh acids to challenge you.

draft @ hopleaf. Golden, hazy - pretty much no head at all. Complex sour, vinegary notes. Very traditional blend with all the horseblanket, sweaty esters. Pricey for the amount of pour.

bottle @ poechenellekelder, Brussels. 2004 vintage served with a pouring basket. pours golden hazy, white head. aroma has some nice sour, vinegary elements, some wood/barrel hints also to be noted. taste, high carbonation, sparkly/tingly mouthfeel, some vinegary and acidity, mixed with some enjoyable sourness. Add a champagne like palate with some fruit elements. It still remains a nice tart and sour beer that might take a few tries to be fully appreciated.

Bottle at London Drinker BF. Cloudy golden coloured. Lasting white head. Sour and yeasty aroma. Dry sourness in the flavour. Crisp and fresh. A little nutty in the aftertaste. Not tart enough for my taste.

Bottle, vintage 2004. Pours hazy golden with firm head. Complex aroma with citrus and some wood. Taste is also acidy but soft, becomes somewhat more sweet and malty afterwards, some lambik yeast and maybe some wood in the aftertaste. Very nice geuze with a classy touch.
