bottle @ poechenellekelder, Brussels. 2004 vintage served with a pouring basket. pours golden hazy, white head. aroma has some nice sour, vinegary elements, some wood/barrel hints also to be noted. taste, high carbonation, sparkly/tingly mouthfeel, some vinegary and acidity, mixed with some enjoyable sourness. Add a champagne like palate with some fruit elements. It still remains a nice tart and sour beer that might take a few tries to be fully appreciated.

Bottle at London Drinker BF. Cloudy golden coloured. Lasting white head. Sour and yeasty aroma. Dry sourness in the flavour. Crisp and fresh. A little nutty in the aftertaste. Not tart enough for my taste.

Bottle, vintage 2004. Pours hazy golden with firm head. Complex aroma with citrus and some wood. Taste is also acidy but soft, becomes somewhat more sweet and malty afterwards, some lambik yeast and maybe some wood in the aftertaste. Very nice geuze with a classy touch.

375ml bottle, unknown vintge but must be fairly well aged as the back label indicates a best by date of Jan. 2005. Tart, lightly sweet and farmy aroma, some faint white grape and wheat, along with notes of grass, wheat, straw and dried wood. Hazy medium-dark golden color with an initially foamy, lasting head of white, and some fine lacing to match. Flavor has an undercurrent of sugary sweetness throughout, being more prominent towards the start, along with a light amount of grainy malt flavor, then becoming tarter and more bitter, the wild yeast character beginning to take over, showing some brett funk towards the finish, with tones of leather and dried leaves, drying out to a large extent and showing some lasting peppery spiciness. Moderate degree of acidity and effervescence, with a medium-full body. Pretty refined example of the style, the age no doubt having tamed it to some extent.

Bottle thanks to beerlando!
Cork pops violently. Shimmering golden-yellow, nice fluffy white head that laces strongly. Tart, citrus nose, some barn and leather, also some sweeter notes, like a bread+strawberry of some kind. Rather harsh tart flavor, very acidic and bitter, minor fruit. Sticky body. This is very solid effort, everything good but nothing particularly great. The bitterness is a bit much, would prefer some complexity to balance it out more.

375ml bottle. Pours a rocky, white head. Murky, golden body with small yeast chunks in suspension. Sour, tangy, metallic nose with some mineral. Tastes of a lemon sour with some earth and a bit of spice. Not much else to say, but it was very enjoyable.

Bottled. Dull golden pour, rocky white head. Sour metallic nose. Taste the same, dry and Champagney. Sourness is actually nice and lightly puckering. Slightly dusty with a tiny touch of wood. Medium-full body. A notch up from their into-level gueuze - a nice, clean, refreshing example of the style.

Bottle. Hazy golden colour with a small no good head. Aroma and taste of yeast, fruits and citrus. Nice gueuze.
