Commercial Description:
Geuze, a mixture of old and young Lambic. The young Lambic is added to cause a refermentation in the bottle making for a delightfully sparkling and dry beer that has been likened, in all seriousness, to Champagne.

12 oz bottle. Poured a cloudy honey color with a 1 inch cream colored head that never disapeared. Aroma was earthy with light fruit and lemons. Nice carbonation. Acidic sourness at first, then very sweet. Flavors of brett funk apple and lemon flavors. Sweeter than I expected.

From a 750 ml bottle that cost $8.59 at the Northcoast Coop in Eureka, CA this poured a cloudy gold with fat white head and thick lacing. Nose is citrus and ripe fruit. Lively mouthfeel and a lot of rich sour fruit flavors and a dry finish. Very nice brew.

12 oz bottle poured into a Duvel tulip. Dark cloudy goldenrod with a humungous off-white head, more than 4 fingers tall. Excellent retention and absurd chunks of lacing. Aroma is mostly citrus peel and lemony sour with an orangey sweetness to it. Huge citric acid. Flavor is not nearly as sour as the aroma. Some of the lemony tartness is definitely still there, but bretty funk is at least even with sourness/acidity in the overall profile. Earthy and saison-like at times. Nice dry finish. Kind of like a part-gueuze part-Orval blend. Interesting and tasty, could be a good intro-to-sours beer.

(Bottle, 0.75 l from brewseason 2005-2006, at Kaisla, Helsinki, on 2008-12-12) Golden and hazy. Quite large white head that lasts some time. Sour and fruity nose. Medium bodied and dry palate with medium carbonation. Sourness, fruitiness, wood, bitterness, vomit and hint of grapefruit in taste. Sour and fruity flavours in dry aftertaste.

$6.99 bottle from PP bottle shop. Yellow amber color. Lots of carbonation, but head fades quickly. Strong, strong skunky aroma. Some other nice funky notes, but the skunk overwhelms. Green glass bottle. Nice mellow sour flavor.

Bottled 37.5cl. Appearance: It pours a beautiful hazy copper beer with a tall extremely nicely remaining creamy off white head. Fantastic lacework. Beautiful carbonation. A lot of tiny bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. Aroma: Lemon peel, rhubarb, white grapes and raspberry accompanied by a decent amount of vinegar and apples. Flavor and palate: Nice sourness. Champagne-like. Light bodied. Hints of apples showing up. Overall impression: Decent. Probably really great accompanying seafood.
