Sep 23, 2008 [EBF @ Copenhagen, September 2008] Large foamy white head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Cloudy golden color. Aroma of leather, vinegar, barnyard, fruit, rubber, mild wheat. Full bodied with a soft carbonation and dry texture. Moderated sour flavor with good counter sweetness. Sour dry fruity finish.

Sep 19, 2008 Pours a hazy golden color color with a huge, rocky head. Aroma is sour apples, funk, some cheese, new car, some leather. Sour, tart taste with a wood finish. Really, I’m just getting into gueuze, but this is awesome.

Sep 16, 2008 Bottle: Pours a hazy deep orange with a fading white head. The aroma has some citric notes- lemon, orange with dust, flowery notes and mild leather. The palate is crisp. It has a sweet and tart flavor. Some mild honey-ish notes, leather, dusty lemon, tart apple, mild dry-ish funk yet it’s pretty tamed. Not as complex as some top Gueuzes, but it’s still a balanced and tasty easy drinker.

Sep 1, 2008 12 oz bottle. Hazy color with bright fun smell. Odor is sweeter that actual taste. Was more tart than sour. Interesting odors going on as we drank. At one point I told someone it smelled of anchovies, and somebody across the table said it smelled fishy. But in a good way.

Aug 31, 2008 (37.5cl bottle, saison 2000-2001) Hazy, golden colour with a mid-sized cream-coloured foamy head. Dusty, moderately acidic aroma with a light malty sweetness and accents of ripe citrus fruits and apples. Moderately sour and tart flavour, medium to light bodied with a soft carbonation. Good lambic character with moderately fruity and light woody notes; dry, slightly tart and woody finish. Rounded and rather mild traditional Gueuze (24.08.08).

Aug 21, 2008 A great funky farmyard aroma. A bit of a crabapple flavor to it. Funky, tart, with a crisp bubblyness. A tasty beer; a little too coating in the finish.

Aug 21, 2008 2003-2004 season. This is wonderfully dry and sour. Great sipper because of the afertaste. If Geuze is for you, this is a cheap and easily attainable offering.

Aug 18, 2008 Updated: Mar 7, 2009Right. How can I seriously rate a beer that smells like vomit? This just isn’t my style I guess. Lots of sour flavours, but none of them nice. I have another bottle left, perhaps the rating will be adjusted after the next one. 3 3 3 3 9
Opened the other bottle last night (2003-2004 vintage). Hazy orange colour, big white head. Aroma of lemon, yeast, sourness (not vomit, but it comes close). Flavour is just sour, bad dry white wine with cork, some champagne-like flavours, yeast. Nah, this remains the worst type of beer for me. I’ll upgrade the score for aroma and overall impression, but it’s not much 4 3 3 3 11
