Commercial Description:
Geuze, a mixture of old and young Lambic. The young Lambic is added to cause a refermentation in the bottle making for a delightfully sparkling and dry beer that has been likened, in all seriousness, to Champagne.

12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Pours opaque hazy amber with lasting dense off-white head and nice lace. Yeasty, bready, earthy aroma with faint tartness. Complex layers of tart flavors, horseblanket with a dry finish. Medium-light body, medium carbonation. Delicious, if not the most flavorful of the gueuzes.

Tasted@Akkurat, Stockholm: Very fresh and tart aroma with touch of cellar and citrus. At first feels simply refreshing and drinkable but then the lingering tartness appears. Nothing heavy duty but still very nice.

500ml bottle (Gallows Bird, Espoo) Dark orange, lively tight head, stays for ever. Sour lambic aroma. Warming mellow woody taste - some oak. Also sharp and refreshing, quite grapey. Malty and part-bitter-part-mellow finish.

37.5cl cork bottle bought in Belgium. SOUR!!!! First impression is only sour, sour sour.... like biting into a lemon, but after a while (about half the bottle) you get used to it and begin to discover some subtle woody tastes and smells. The palate feels very much like a French wine; a dry white one with a lemon and wooden-casket feel to it. Fun to try but not my kind of beer. Great for very hot summer days though.

750 ml bottle. Labelled 2002-2003. Golden orange colour. Cloudy from yeast. Tall white merengue head. Crisp, but mellow, acidic bready and citrusy. Barnyard yeast aroma. Sharp acidity upfront. Bready biscuity flavours. Mellow citrus flavours in the finish. Slightly astringent finish with some tannins.

Cloudy yellow champagne appearance. Has a big white head, lively bubbles and lacing. Sharp aroma- sour, Chardonnay, lambic flavors. Tastes like a sour champagne, but you know it is a beer with the lambic yeast flavors and the malt. No hops or bitterness. A very dry finish. Very enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden/orange with a good sized white head that fades slightly and leaves some lacing. Aroma is acidic and full of citrus fruit and a mild barnyard leathery character. Taste is a little softer than the aroma with the acidity being present but never too much and the barnyard being very faint. Medium thin mouthfeel that finishes dry, tart, and mildly spicy. A good Geuze

Best before 2025 bottle (labeled Geueze Boon); The aroma starts off with the standard sour smells, with hints of citrus, and a touch of straw. Pours a hazy straw color with a big fluffy white head. It is an amazingly dry beer, with a very sour start, and a long sour/bitter (almost pith like) finish.
