Commercial Description:
Geuze, a mixture of old and young Lambic. The young Lambic is added to cause a refermentation in the bottle making for a delightfully sparkling and dry beer that has been likened, in all seriousness, to Champagne.

Bottle. Pours cloudy dark orange with amber highlights. Rich frothy head that dissapates quickly. Quite sour on the nose. Barnyard at dawn; wet, musty yet slightly fruity.. farm-y. Quite firm on the palate. Very metallic tasting (copper). Slightly dry and hoppy. Dry cherry notes develop, but still quite iron-y. Maybe my bottle needed more time. Tasted too young. Not oaky enough.

Translucent, magnifying pale caramel with only a few sulphite strings on top. Tart screams out of the gate. Barn planks stricken by the sun, followed by soured chardonnay grapes, parched picnic baskets and key lime time. High, tart flavor crests subside into the lemon buttered sweetened nips. Carbonation pipes up a more active body while the souring lemon currents weave through sourdough for a tart and sweet bready treat. Something whispers sandalwood and then takes on salt water by sandy shores. Mild, aged hops and cheese-like suggestions. The waves lap fervently and flavorfully as we remember our May palisade. Thanks, Blake!

The beer pours to a hazy coppery golden body with a nice white head and awesome lacing. The aroma is pretty awesome too. Sour, tart, acidic, funky cheese (aged Brie, Blue, and aged Havarti). The flavor is sour, tart, and acidic. Nicely blended but there’s nothing really super outstanding. The palate is tart and acidic. Not as sour or as complex as I want in a gueuze.

Big white lasting head. Deep hazy opaque orange body. Rubbery, wooden barnyard aroma, quite mild. Bitter metallic wooden taste. Not so sour, but kind of tart. The wood really dominates. Kind of thin-bodied. Dry, metallic wooden lemony aftertaste. It’s OK. (0.375l bottle.)

75 cl bottle. Full creamy head on top of a golden cloudy beer. Sourness, sure, but also a round fruitiness. Oaky finsih, very dry. Nice stuff.

75 cl bottle. Cloudy amber colour, fine white head. Lemony nose, hints of cheese. Woody flavours, lemons, ending very dry. Fizzy, with a medium body. Rich and complex as you would expect an oude geuze.

355ml, date is unknown but i found this on clearance for $3.99! pours clear pale-copper with white head. nose is lots of vinegar, flowers, faint rotton egg, and some barnyard funk. flavor is rather unrefined, a watered down sourness taste at first, brett, earthy, and finishes mildly sweet and dry. mouthfeel is full and carbination is high. alcohol isn’t noticed. the nose and flavor just isn’t very good. although this did the job of taking care of this geueze craving i had all day (it is tasty), this is really on the bottom end of the wonderful world of geueze. I’ll age the other ones i bought on clearance for 4-10 years.
