Beautiful, fully golden beer albeit very hazy. Marvellous almost exotic nose - sherry perhaps - but also very acidic notes. The acidity continuous in the flavours, but this is far from the extreme sourness found in other traditional gueuzes. Wonderfully aromatic with some metallic notes. Well-conditioned - good one. 060200 and 110700 Sten (291), Westerlo, Belgium
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 21, 2005 A very sour beer, smells awful (sences of yeas and vinegar) but tastes a little bit better than it smells, it even tastes a bit like bad wine. However even the more commercial belle-vue gueuze is better (bottle corked 37,5cl brewing season 2002-2003) Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 8, 2005 Very appealing tart barnyard aroma with some white grape highlights and moldy book/paper smell. Pours clear and peach colored with a firm white head. Clean, sour and bitter. Quite straight ahead in flavor. Mungo (2473), Southampton, Hampshire, England

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jul 4, 2005 sour acidic aroma, vinegary with the slightest fruit hint. pours a nice golden color with a bit of a slight whitish head. the flavor is sour and musty, a complexity that i can’t quite make out fully. outside of the intense sourness, not much else to recommend it. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 3, 2005 pours out dark yellow in color with a thick white head. smells fruity, sour, oaky, and complex. taste is - (to me, and this is the first rating of this sytle of lambic) - slightly off. it is sour and rich, but there is something that tastes odd that i cant quite place a finger on. ah yes, as one rater describes - old tasting - i think that is the taste im going for. it was a different brew, thats for sure. an interesting find. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 23, 2005 Rusted orange. Full foaming, wispy and creamy head. Aromatically vibrant, with horsey, fruit (lemon) and barnyard aromas. Typical lambic aromatics. Flavor is much more approachable, less acidic, less sour, sweeter and generally less flavorful than lambics from say 3F, Girardin, Cantillon, Hanssens. I haven’t been impressed by Frank Boon thusfar, to be honest.
