Body is a light amber with orange, very thin bubbly head lasts. Mouthfeel is too bubbly. Taste is watery and sour, one sided. I like it, but compared to the others I’ve had it doesn’t compare. Aroma is fruity and tart, almost like a slightly sour dry white wine. It does have leathery and funky character. Flavor is moderately acidic. Finish is fruity up front and fairly dry on the tail end. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 6, 2004 Lightly hazed orangey amber, strong fine carbonation, plenty of foam. Sweet fruity spiced aroma, ginger and peach, with dry woody tones, mild cheesiness and vinegar, fairly muskey. Dryish, tart, sour fruity palate, hints of tropical fruit but supressed by the lambic flavors. Strongly puckering throughout and acidic in the finish. Impressive lambic overall. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2004 Cloudy golden color, small but decent white head that faded slowly leaving a decent lace.Nice sour/sweetish aroma with a little something that is biting coming through as well.Very sour flavor at first, then a slight mellowing as it goes down and the sour after taste gets easy to handle with just a slight astringent like quality coming on somewhere in the taste. Not a bad brew at all and in fact i think this would be a nice brew to have more of but the price is a bit of a drag at 8.99/bot but i might just have to do a few more . | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 7, 2004 Hazy golden with yeast in it. No head. Aroma from grapefreuit and yeast. Flavor is hoppy and sour with some sweeter notes. Quite a mild finish. TAR (2095), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 30, 2004 Updated: Nov 18, 2004355ml; BB 5/02/22: Clear, speckle-laden golden. Foamy, pasty head settles to a ½ inch layer. Raging upsurge of carbonation. Crushed minerals, brettanomyces, and firm musty wood scents with subtle notes of cedar, sour apples, and iron oxide. Feathery and gently airy on the tongue with a peppery spritz. Somewhat sharp with a restrained brett accent. Unchallenging tartness yields notes of iron and lemon zest. Timidly dry, musty, and malty. Limited complexity of salt and apples develops as it warms, but it remains harsh. Intensely harsh finish of crushed minerals and iron oxide briefly overshadows the brett and husky malt sweetness. Laggard, but extremely vague, husky pale malt sweetness coats the palate after the swallow alongside a lingering musty cedar/brett/anise mixture and sneaky malt husky sweetness. Has a lovely appearance, but the aroma and flavor fail to captivate you. Also has a highly underutilized snappy dryness, brisk tartness, and musty oak intensity, compared to the likes of Girardin and Hanssens. Good. snoot (277), Anaheim, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 23, 2004 Quite sour, white wine aroma. The only bottle I’ve ever uncaged where the cork flew out by itself, big white head, but ugly big bubbles. My first lambic, so I’m not sure my palate is accurate yet, I’ll probably come back and re-rate in the future with better flavor notes. Very much like champagne without the alcohol bite.
