Slightly sour to the nose. Assertive acidity of fruit and berries in the taste profile. Dry on the swallow. Nice drink to clear up my palate for the next drinks at the festival (15.05.2009). | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 31, 2009 Updated: Jun 20, 2009Bottle at The Beer Engine Lakewood, OH. Pours a light medium amber/orange color with a white head. Sour kiwi aroma that I found really enjoyable. This was my first Lambic Geuze and I found the funkified citrus notes weird and great, especially the strange subtle beefy aftertaste. Also celery seeds figured into the taste somehow. This one was a hard one to put my finger on. Really liked that it was so harshly bubbly from the sip to the mouthfeel and then smooth mouthfeel at the finish as if you almost forgot you had a sip at all. kuphish (161), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 28, 2009 375ml bottle. Pours a large, white head with a light-orange body. Interesting citrus-sour smell with some old, musty closet tones. Tart, lip-puckering sour taste that had me thinking of a sweaty gym upon exhalation. Lively carbonation and medium bodied with a somewhat metallic and bitter finish. Overall a very fun beer to drink and one that I hope to have again in the future. EithCubes (2163), Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 25, 2009 Corked and caged green 375. Taste is tart, acidic, sour, metallic, but not extreme. Steady carbonation in a light golden pour. Rocky off-white head. Taste puckers the mouth, very dry, sour, some harsh notes, lightly metallic, stings the throat a touch, light. Musty earthy note, not soil-earthy, but non0funky dank-earthy. Medium body, tangy feel, very nice. A good introductory geuze. Cybercat (811), Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 23, 2009 Pours a somewhat hazy straw-yellow with a thick and not persistent white head - not very inspiring, but this is the beer’s weakest point. Aroma is quite strong, yeasty with malty and fruity undertones. Flavor is rich and crisp, malty with a good sour-apple component and a touch of hops. Texture is edgy and fizzy, leaving a pleasantly sour aftertaste. Heathen (810), Riverside, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 22, 2009 THOUGHTS: I opened this a little early. The Bottle had a date of 18-02-2028. But hell, it was still nice. One day I’ll have to go to Belgium and try on that is already aged, because I can wait a couple years for a beer, but I don’t have the patience for 20 years.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a slightly hazy, light to medium yellow with mesmerizing, slow carbonation beads and a huge, white head that mostly diminished, but still kept a fairly thick sheet that left fair to good lacing. The aroma was mostly sour fruit, cobweb-like yeast, light funk, dust, champagne, lemon, and a little peach. The initial flavor was sour and acidic; while the finish was very sour and acidic with and average to long duration. There was lemon, sour fruit, dust, funk and slight chalk. The light to medium body was dry with very fizzy carbonation and a dry, moderately astringent and ever so slightly chalky finish. Pinball (2975), Allerød, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2009 Bottle. Date was best before 18.02.2028. Poured clear yellow with a big white fizzy and fluffy head. Skunkness filled the room right after opening the bottle. I was a bit scared but there was almost no trace of skunk in the aroma or taste of the beer. Aroma is strong citrus, funky and sour and a bit barnyard. Taste is quite sour (not overly sour) and citric. A tiny hint metallic on the first two sip. It has a nice balance but not much complexity (from what I can tell). Carbonation is medium. Good mouthfeel. Still learning to appreciate sours. This one was good but not amazing. Very interesting and different. Rating #122
