Commercial Description:
Geuze, a mixture of old and young Lambic. The young Lambic is added to cause a refermentation in the bottle making for a delightfully sparkling and dry beer that has been likened, in all seriousness, to Champagne.

Bottle 2006-2007, drunk Dec 2009. citrus, pale, hazy, rocky head, lightly bitter, medium sourness, soft carbonation, bitter. Fruity, sharp aroma. Sour taste gives way to a balanced, bitter finish. Pretty nice.

bottle. i don’t see a bottling date (lambic with no date??) anyway, best before 8/6/2027. truly wonderful aroma fills the area without even holding to my nose. aroma of fresh fruits(orange, lemon, apricot) and berries(strawberry), very light tartness. lightly hazy gold under medium sized white head. a bitter apricot-ish geuze. light, dry, and crisp. low on acidity.

Hazy straw colored with a medium white head that settles lowly and leaves moderate lacing. Decent fresh bread aroma with a hint of barnyard. Nicely dry, citrus and dust, with an edge of sourness toward the end and a dry bitter finish. Great body for the style. Good one, a winner.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with a stable white head. A true funky nose, wood, citrus, hay and lemon that comes through on the nose and flavour. Quite heavy carbonation. The mouthfeel is slightly acidic that follows right through to the finish. Not a bad gueze but lacking the refreshing dryness I prefer. (RateBeer Sydney Xmas Gathering 2009 - cheers Bridge!)

Picked up at Greens on Ponce De Leon. I purchased this for a friend who said he liked champagne, and I never tried it. Cork was a mother fucker to get out. Transparent light copper color with a small head that fades away rather quickly. Smell is sour and a nice funk aroma. Burnt wood and slight cheese aroma. Nice aroma, but not very complex or nuanced. Fairly pungent brew. Taste is a short-lived sour funk. Sourness lasts quite some time. The beer doesn’t have a complex flavor. Some charred wood in the flavor as well. This beer is fairly carbonated, and a nice Gueuze if you ask me.

Pours a nice blonde color with a good head and good lace. The aroma is corky and funky with great oak character. The flavor has a bit of lemon rind and general fruit rind bitterness, the acidity is pretty well controlled but very plesant. The beer is sour and has a kind of new oak character. This is a easy drinking Geuze, and I could likely drink it every day... I wouldn’t mind that.

Pours a hazy orange color with a very thick foamy head. Sour aroma of citrus, apple, leather and earth that stings the nose a bit. Taste is very dry and bitter and very carbonated. There are hints of several ripe fruits. An interesting taste, but I think this is not really my style. Decent long bitter finish though.

2006-2007 vintage: This has developed aromas of ripe Granny Smith apples, white grapes, lemons, hay and farmyard, but not in an overly aggressive manner. Just slightly hazy, pale golden in colour with a bright white head that seems to last forever. Pithy flavour, like eating a lemon’s outer layer. Definitely sour, but not mouth-puckering and pretty bitter. I taste hints of herbal hops, alcohol and wooden barrels as well. A bit disappointing, flavour-wise.
