| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Nov 16, 2007 375. Pours a deep ruddy brown with a sudsy, bubbly pink froth for a head. Super intense sour cherry nose blasts you from arm’s length, but settles down to a more palatable tart smackeriness after it aerates for a couple minutes. Medium body; tingly, almost fizzy carb. Sharp cherry dominates the flavor profile all the way through. Sour lingering finish. Tasty. Perm (151), Tryon, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 12, 2007 I found it to be much better than the Lindemans offerings that tend to be the most prevalent in shops around here. The nose was tart, acidic, winey, sour, and wild-yeasty; "Medicinal, like the dentist’s office, yet not totally unpleasant."
However, it doesn’t especially taste acidic even though the nose would have you think it would. It tastes, basically, like you’re sucking on cherry pits.
Pairs quite well with pistachios and hazelnuts. voota (765), Melbourne, Australia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 3, 2007 Clear ruby with a fluffy pink head. Very fresh, almost ’in your face’ cherry aroma, which makes it a touch one-dimensional... leaving only a tiny bit of musk and tartness to enjoy. Simple body and flavour (for a lambic) lightly tart, pretty fruity, but less so than the aroma... pretty dry and vineous. Very good without being anything outstanding JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2007 37.5 cl bottle at Oude Arsenaal. BB 08/2026. Crystal clear, bright ruby red with a thick creamy pink head that actually sticks around. Bright fruity aroma, lots of sweet cherry and cherry skin tannins. Much less citrus and acid that other krieks, but it still has an authentic dustiness. Herbal character and a touch of black currant fruitiness. Soft lactic sourness that just cuts through the inherent fruity sweetness. Quite rich tasting with a good balance of soft fruit, dusty yeast and mild lactic tartness. Soft finish. Another great brew. puzzl (2648), New York, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 23, 2007 Bottle at Oud Arsenaal, vintage 2003. A flimsy and lackluster representation of the style. Rich, sweetened honey aroma. A hint of funk. Overcarbonated, lightly sour. Minerals, strawberry and raspberry, metals. A bit spongy, rocky. Blech. Bullit (1392), Glasgow, Scotland
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 23, 2007 Red colour, short pink head. Aroma has cherry, marsipan and some sourness. Cherry fruits in flavour. Lots of sourness and carbonation, but ends sweet. Nice.
