There is a strong acidic aroma. The very mellow cherry flavor indicates use of the local lambeek cherries in the brew. The final product presents a slightly sweet cherry flavor, followed by a more tart finish. This is an excellent example of the kriek lambic style. bhensonb (4376), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 28, 2006 Aroma of sour cherries and yeast. Hazy red (really) color with a lavender/purplish head. Starts with sour, followed by a lactic taste, cherry flavor is always there, but ... The finish is rather unsweet. Lightly puckers the mouth. As time goes on the fruit tends to come to the fore. A lambiek for those of us who aren’t yet adjusted to the ultimate reality. TURDFERGUSON (1607), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA

A little sweeter than I like it, but still has a good amount of funk and puckerness to it. Great on a hot summer day. Very refreshing. strings (361), Sydney, Australia
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 9, 2006 Aha! Here’s the sourness I was missing with the plain boon kriek. A big improvement - same intesity of flavour, but less like a cordial. Goes down a treat and leaves the tastebuds thirsty for more. gnoff (3574), Göteborg, Sweden

A dark red coloured lambic with a thick pinky coloured head. The aroma is tart and acidic with cherry fruits. Sour and welcoming nose. The taste is on the sour acidic side but is also fairly light and fruity. Not as deep tasting as some lambics but still mouth puckeringly nice. Very tasty but seems to miss some tricks. harrisoni (6946), Ashford, Kent, England
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 15, 2006 Bottle at Brugs Beertje. Shared with maeib. Deep red with very pinkish head. Sour farmyard aroma, quite a lot of farmyard in fact and then cherry. Bit tart, sharper than the regular kriek. Really drys the roof of the mouth. Cherry is pretty good, sweetish on end. Bit too acidic for me. Very parching. Fruit is great on end though. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 12, 2006 12 oz Bottle. Pinkish reddish brown color with a pink head. Nice nose of sour cherry underneath some barnyard and must. Similar flavor, just seemed to be lacking. The cherry was integrated fairly well, added a touch of sweetness. Lower on the acidity scale. Not bad
