pours red with a pink head, aroma is of tart cherries, very tart flavor with some cherry and lactic notes, takes a bit of "getting used to" but very drinkable, my wife hated it, so I HAD to drink hers too. ’Sigh’

Bottle. Really nice red pour with some light pink head. Nice sour cherry skin aroma, some sugar, and maybe some oak also. Sweet and sour cherry flavor, with a fizzy sort of harsh palate. A little bit funky in the finish, and the cherry skins flavor lingers a bit. Nice but probably average for the style.

375 mL bottle. Very nice looking scarlet color with a thin broken greyish-red foam layer. Sweet hay, sour cherry, musk, acetic sourness, mild cat urine aroma. Very pleasant sourness on the beer, aggressive but lets in just enough sweetness. Very acetic but not over the top. A very accessible kriek.

It pours a golden red with a slightly pink foam. The aroma is saturated with cherries, almonds, hay, barnyard and a touch of balsamic. Upon tasting, it starts with a dry blast cherries with a small residual sweetness remaining. Vigorous carbonation adding lots of life and kicking up a slight bitterness that grows into a crescendo and softly collapses as one swallows. Lingering, is a dry cherry and almond note, with a fresh grapefruit like tart bitterness.

375 ml bottle. Pours a nice bright violet reddish with a fizzy head- mostly clear body and high carb. Aroma is intensely sour cherry- earthy, cherry pit, a bit pedio like with some earthy leathery musty notes and a ton of acidity. Great intense lactic sourness in here- tons of sour cherry flavor, pedio, bacteria, funky as hell, and just very intense all around ont eh palate with a long lasting intense sour finsih. I keep forgetting how much I love this beer. Gotta find more.

Bottle 37,5 cl RE-tasted on 28.7.’08 at home (bought Vanden Bussche). Hazy dark rd color, with medium pinkisch head. Aroma lambic, berry and cherry character. Full body. Taste sour but not too sour, lambic at cherrys. Good drinkable kriek.

1998 bottle drank July 25, 2008, thanks TimE. Glowing red color. Tart cherries with a musty, sweet aroma. It seems the cherries have died down a bit over the years, but that makes this easier to drink, actually. Sour, cherry, funky, acidic, some wood, as well. Thoroughly enjoyed this one, though I’ll bet it peaked a couple years back.
