1998 bottle drank July 25, 2008, thanks TimE. Glowing red color. Tart cherries with a musty, sweet aroma. It seems the cherries have died down a bit over the years, but that makes this easier to drink, actually. Sour, cherry, funky, acidic, some wood, as well. Thoroughly enjoyed this one, though I’ll bet it peaked a couple years back.

375mL bottle, courtesy of bwkrieger. Thanks, Brian! Pours a dark cherry / maroon color; light-pink head with decent retention and solid, fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of funk, sour dark cherries, citrus, and jaw-clenching acidity in the aroma; good levels of complexity, horseblanket, and sourness; mouthwatering. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: lively carbonation; lots of clenching sourness and citrus acidity at the front; ripe black cherries, lemons, and a touch of toasted oakiness at the core; nicely composed, well-soured kriek. Lengthy, sour finish: loads of lasting tartness, dark cherries (more of a black cherry character than any other kriek I can think of), and dry citrus.

Courtesy of kmweaver. Hazy maroon body with a medium-sized pink head. Cheesy nose with horseblanket and sour cheeries. The flavor is moderately sour with light to moderate sweetness. Lots of rich cherry and almond taste with salty blue cheese, lemon and yogurt. Medium body is round with sparkling carbonation.

Cloudy deep red pour with a finger thick pink head that disipates quickly. Aroma of tart funky cherries with strong barn yard overtones. Very sour taste with faint cherry. Tart as well. A touch of apricot as well as a fresh floral essence. Tingly on the mouth.

Cherry, tart, wild yeast are all in the aromas. Pink big foamy head on the pour. Red color and clear in the look. Some cherry sediment. Good tart cherry taste. Dry and balanced.
