Aug 1, 2009 On tap at the brewery. Billed as their 1st anniversary brown ale. Pours with a brown body and a small tan head. Aroma is malted barley, brown sugar, and oatmeal. Taste is cocoa, barley, tobacco and leather. Light, tingly bubbles.

Jul 18, 2009 On tap at brewery. Pours light amber-brown with a moderate head. Aroma is of chocolate malt, dried dates, and herby hops. Flavor is just so different. Expecting a American Strong Ale type pale ale, imagine my surprise at encountering smoke, wood, chocolate, and herbs in the body of this beer! Later, I was told that this beer is run through a “Hopinator” to impart extra hop aroma (Golding and Kent I think?). A really interesting release, works decently.

Jul 17, 2009 On tap at the brewery, this beer was their 1st anniversary beer and the ’76’ denotes 76 years since the end of Prohibition.
This was a very mild, benign beer. Not bad, but nothing special.
