Commercial Description:
A Belgian style ale similar to a Belgian double, but lighter. The plum notes shine through vividly in this unique ale.

My fav beer from Bootleggers. For a 7.8% it’s super smooth. Love the plumbs as well.

Growler purchased from the brewery. Opaque amber color with a light head. Flavor of a quality abbey double with a hint of fruit and a sweet aftertaste.

Sampled an early pilot batch of this before it was officially released. Flecs of plum were noticeable then set against an orange/red color. Fruity and bitter and very pleasant. I really enjoyed the creativity that this one had.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with a large, bone colored, creamy head over a hazed orange body. Aroma of plum and candi sugar. Taste is lightly tart, with dark fruits, candi sugar, and tart plum skins. Light carbonation.

7/4/09 notes: On tap at brewery. Pours darker than most Belgians, probably due to the plum addition. Nose is fruity sweet, with hints of bubble gum. Flavor starts mellow with some upfront spice, then moves gradually sweeter to a plum-fruity finish. Remains a smooth drink throughout. A solid concoction, well executed and tasty.

On tap at the brewery, the folks there said that this was a "light" abbey dubbel with plums added. It had a nice fruity flavor and was easy to drink.
