Commercial Description:
A true Southern California original, this smoked wheat ale pays homage to our own California tradition of yearly wild fires. This unique medium bodied wheat ale is slightly fruity with a pleasant hint of smokey goodness. Give this refreshing, yet flavorful seasonal ale a try and we’re sure you’ll think it’s a fitting beer for our hot summers.

Bacon in a bottle. A great summer afternoon brew. Great label as well, stands out in a crowd.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy bright oranagey amber with 1/8 inch of dense white foam. Aroma: Smoked ham, wheat bread and small amounts of banana. Taste: Smoked ham, dry malt and a slight spicy hop note. Mouthfeel: Heavy. Overall: I loved the smoke factor of this beer. Really enjoyable and really smokey. I’ve never had a smoked wheat before. I find it to be a great idea that worked well.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with a light white head over an orange body. Aroma of citrus, and bready with some rye. Taste is leather, grain, wheat and orange. Didn’t get much smoke at all. Light and dry body.

On tap at the brewery, Hefeweizen meet Smoked beer, Smoked beer meet Hefe. Some banana, some clove, some deli meat in the aroma, give you an interesting twist on flavors and styles. All in all, it was a bit subdued. I would have hoped for more pronounced flavors.
