Commercial Description:
Boréale Blonde is made from a pale malt of premium, two-row barley that gives it a luminous colour and velvety flavour. Selected hops add a crisp and refreshing bitter harmony to the mellow notes.

Had this with an Italian meal at a sidewalk cafe in Montreal. Perfect beer for a hot, humid summer day and an accompaniment to my meal of linguini. Pours a nice light golden color with a medium-sized head. Flavor was very hoppy, malty with a bitter finish to it. I liked this so much I brought a 12 pack home with me!

341 mL Bottle sampled Dec 27, 2009. Pale gold body with a small frothy white head, good lacing. Aroma is almost like a Bohemian Pilsner: grains, yeast, and grass with hints of wildflowers and honey. Flavor is light sweet malt and corn husk with a grassy aftertaste and a biscuit-like finish. A bit thin in the mouth. Summer beer.

Bottle, at a concert. Pretty widely distributed, in bottle or tap, throughout the Montreal region. Better than the style pctl might suggest. Refreshing beer with a leafy hop aroma and taste, with some discreet fruit notes. Enjoyable beer.

341ml bottle poured into a pint glass. Poured a clear golden yellow with a 1" white head. The head didn’t last but there’s lots of lacing. Aroma is mostly sweet malts. There’s a bit a floral hops in there too but the malts are certainly more prominent. Taste has sweet malts up front. A very very light apple sourness is present. The finish has some hop bitterness but it’s a bit mild. This beer certainly tastes more like a Lager or Pilsner then a Pale Ale. Good carbonation and a bit creamy with a crisp finish. Easy to drink for sure. I’ve sessioned on these at the pub a few times. Pretty good brew that’s better then most macros and it usually retails for about the same.

354 ml bottle. Pours pale copper in colour, good off-white head, leaving plenty of lacing on glass. Aroma and taste are mildly hoppy.

[2271-20090607] Sample. Sweet sugary yeast powder aroma. Clear, light orange yellow body with a quick foamy white head. Yeasty powdery flavour has lots of sugary malt throughout. Light-medium body is rough. Poor.

Bottle. This was one of the beers I drank during my transition from macro brews to craft beers, but haven’t had it in a long time. Appearance is clear yellow with a medium frothy head with below average retention and average lacing. Aroma is grainy, with a very tiny touch of herbal hops. Not much else. Flavor is also cereals with honey and a very small dose of fruits and some herbs. Medium body. Nothing special, but there are no major flaws and it is very drinkable and refreshing.
