330 ml bottle. Pours a nearly clear, deep reddish brown with a massive frothy head. Light but pleasant aroma of malt, brown sugar, and a bit of alcohol. Flavor is mostly malt with some brown sugar sweetness and also some unsweetened iced tea in there as well. The alcohol was fairly well hidden. Very little hops detected, if at all.

Very deep burgundy brown with good head. Aroma is malty and nice. Flavor is smooth, a bit slightly sweet with a dry finish. Pretty decent beer.

very enticing appearance. Deep mahogony with a frothy head. Aroma is very sweet with lingering alcohol notes. Flavor is reflective of such with intensely sweet malt. Smooth palate, nice coating. Finish is hop bitter.

Probably right in the middle of the pack i’ve had so far. Nose is pretty, meh. The tast is there. Real smooth and then you get the flavor right after the swig. After taste is good and very smooth. Could easily drnk a few of these in a row.

Sweet, fruity aroma with lots of dates, some cherry hints and musty hops; voluminous head and abundant carbonation; sourish, burnt caramel, malty flavor; lingering, tart, dusty cobweb and metallic hop finish; tingly, thin palate; sweet, but balanced in the finish. Dubbels have lost the allure they once had for me, but this is quite good.

Bottle. Magogny with khaki head. Sweet, caramel aroma, maybe even a little liquorice. Sweet burnt caramel, some yeasty fruit flavours. Slightly light body for all these flavours. Quite agreeable.

Tap. Big head on this puppy. Sweet aroma on this glass, sort of pumpkin/cinnamon like as was the flavor. A decent Belgian and the alcohol seemed tame for an 8%er. Some other review say this has a sour vibe, I thought it was sweet. Rerated 6/1/08. Above I mention this was sweet on tap. I’m having a bottle now and it is not sweet at all, much more sour and not very enjoyable. rating down from 3.4 to 3.
